2015 Draft Prospects

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We have been awful at stopping the run all year. Even when guys like Taylor and Bryant and Winn were healthy we still were getting gashed in the run game. That's been happening all year, healthy and injured.

We need to settle on the QB first and foremost. After that I'd say we need to sure up the run D followed by another WR. From there we could add another starter on the right side of the OL and we will also have a need at TE depending on what happens with Cameron. Outside of that everything else is gravy.

Agreed on run defense. Something needs to happen there but it probably means at least 2 personnel changes in the front seven. I can't stress enough...this defense needs a Ray Lewis, a guy who is near the top of the league or at the top at his position who can command the defense and lead by example.

Almost every mock I see has us taking Peat and a WR in the 1st. Our oline would be disgustingly good/talented but I'm not sure that's the top need.

Before Mack went out, we were in the top 5 in rushing if I recall correctly. After he went out, the defensive push across the entire line got much stronger. Probably due to the necessity of help blocking. I think getting Mack back will alleviate a ton of problems for the offensive line.

That being said, right tackle needs to be addressed. But I'm not so sure it requires a first round pick. There are much glaring needs elsewhere. As Phills pointed out, our run defense has been absolutely miserable all year. Not just up the middle either, but the Browns are pretty horrendous at sealing the edge. Plays that should be tackles for loss end up in 4-5 yard gains for the opposing offense. It's pretty sickening.

I really can't see us using a 1st rounder on a RT or RG. I honestly can't see that. 2nd or 3rd round? Yea I can buy that but not day 1.

I think we see a DT in round 1. With the other pick, assuming we keep 2 1st rounders I think it'll be a WR or even a QB if one is available.

Bitonio was a fantastic pick in the 2nd round. Don't see why it can't be addressed in the 2nd again this year.

I'd rather wait until a little later. I'm thinking 4th round. The fact of the matter is, you can win with Mitch Schwartz, Mack, Bitonio, Thomas and a marginal guard. You don't need future high-priced FA draft picks to hold-up the right side of the line. In my opinion. A guy who may be developed for potential issues next season and groomed to fight for a starting spot in 2016 would be my ideal o-line pick.

I have been pretty adamnant in saying that both lines should be addressed; you can't let those positions become weaker.

Ahh ok, I've heard that name before, would he be an end or nose?

Why draft a right tackle? Michael Bowie is in our organization, and can play football really, really well.

It's weapons and DLine/Linebacker who can stuff for me, and anything else will be a letdown. Would I take McKinney? Sure. Would I take Shelton? Sure. Would I take White/Strong? Sure. I kind of like being where we're at. Don't really like any of the late single digits guys.

Also...

He's technically eligible, but will definitely be going back for his Junior season (currently an RSo). Paxton Lynch makes my mouth drool. Physically imposing, absolutely massive, wonderful in the pocket, and quick as shit for his size. He's raw in the mechanics department, but it's not a project that's impossible. Little tweaks.

He's a 6'7 235 dream for a QB coach.

Maxx Williams RS Soph TE from Minnesota declaring is huge. With Cameron unlikely to be back/unreliable, I like Williams way more than any WR or TE available in the middle of the 1st round. He's a stud.....a real red zone threat too.

Outside of the starting QB the Browns don't really have any GLARING needs.

Their lack of depth was exposed and there is no question about that, but going forward the pieces we pick up will be luxuries not necessities*. Another pass rusher would be nice, no doubt about that, a true #2 WR would be excellent freeing up Hawkins in the slot. If Cameron leaves a TE would be nice but not 100% necessary, we do have Dray and the legend himself Gary Barnidge :chuckle:. I really look forward to building the depth of this team going forward.

*provided that we don't lose a lot of players to FA

Glaring needs to me would be an upgrade at the kicker position (which can be fixed in FA), a run stopper (we got sliced up against the run), another pass rusher, and obviously a qb. Unfortunately I don't think there's an answer at QB in the draft this year.

Tampa is not passing up MM. It is a near lock. Anyone willing to trade up to 2 for JW? It is a huge gamble, but I am not sure anyone else is worth drafting besides Petty at QB.
