2015 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
@AZ_ anything you can tell me about Gabriel Mejia? Dude must be fast as hell, 72 stolen bases for the Dominican team last year in 70 games, already has 7 through 7 games for the Rookie League team. Switch hitter with that kind of speed is enticing.

Never had eyes on him, personally.

All I know is plus plus speed and somewhat advanced approach for his age.

Some interesting center field prospects in the system.

Tyler Naquin in AAA, Frazier in High A, Greg Allen in Low A and Mejia in the AZL.

All of those guys can stick there and have MLB potential.

Yeah, I was going to say it looks like his contact rate is one of his better skills at the dish. Doesn't really strike out too much, draws walks. Wonder if he covers a lot of ground in the field. Doesn't look like he commits many errors too.

Curious to see if his speed goes with him from level to level and when he begins to beef up a little.

Would his age put him in line as a HS player drafted this year?

Close enough, I think he's 19 now.

They'll likely push him to Lake County at the beginning of next year where he'll still be young for the league.

Mike Clevinger went 2-1 in 5 starts last month in Akron.

29.1 IP // 1.84 ERA // 32 K's // 7 BB

He's 24 and missed most of the 2012 and 2013 seasons due to TJ. We got him from the Angels for Pestano last year. Mid-90's FB with a deceptive delivery and getting better and better.....

Anyone have that Baseball Prospectus write-up of Zimmer? He came in at 20 on their midseason prospect list.

Hillman made his first pro start in AZ tonight. 2 IP, 1 K, 3 H, 0 ER

FWIW, Mike Papi has been on a tear since June 1-- .376 BA / 2 HR / 13 2B / 16 RBI / 21 BB / 19 SO

May 31: .175 / .326 / .234

Today: .248 / .385 / .364

He could move quickly..... really advanced bat.

Nice bat but his defense is trash; 8 errors for an outfielder at this point..yikes. I think 1st base is the only realistic position for him.

His defense is trash? He has 11 OF assists.... 11. The rest of the Lynchburg OF's have 8 combined.

I think he'll be fine in the OF.

Seeing as each of Lynchburgs OFers have good arms that is pretty impressive. Wonder if he isn't being over aggressive on his throws and getting his errors there.

Didn't Papi play 1st at Virginia or am I thinking of someone else? Would seem natural that a convert would have some initial trouble playing the outfield.

Bradley Zimmer just arrived back in LYNCHBURG.

I don't know what they're waiting for.....

What are the odds he's starting with the Indians next April?
