Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Some of the mocks have Kaminsky near the end of the 1st round.

Wasn't Sulaimon recently kicked off the team?

Yea, but apparently it was because of sexual assault rumors and not necessarily being a bad teammate. I'm not trying to brush those rumors aside but unless those girls come forward with information about Rasheed being guilty then I'd think an Nba club would atleast give him a tryout. Btw I doubt he'll transfer wasting 2 years of potential earnings even though it looks like he'd go undrafted.

Anyway J Anderson sounds awesome if Cle wants a wing in this draft. He's improved so much since Montrose Christian academy and I'm happy for him.

Who is up for trading in the teens for Booker out of UK in the late teens. He could give us minutes off the bench today if he was on our roster. He is an insert now player. Just a tremendous release. We need to add bench scoring badly.

Also what does anyone thing about this guy as a back up point

You mean as a backup PG next year? Seems highly unlikely. Not much evidence he can run an offense at a top tier college program let alone the NBA. He's a guy you draft for 2+ years down the road. DX ranking seems a bit high (late 1st), but a team may take a flyer on him the way Toronto did with Caboclo.

If you trade up for him, you'd have to give something up, and I don't think the Cavs are going to trade their limited trade assets for the opportunity to move up a bit to get a 19-21 year old future role player.

For a wing, I still sort of like Justin Anderson. The fact he has returned from his hand injury and struggled may drop him a slot or two and he may be available where the Cavs draft. But I really doubt I would trade up for him or any other guy even if I had the assets to do so. There's a danger of falling in love with a certain player.

I think the need for bench scoring is overstated. Yes, the team will always need guys who can come in and hit a shot. But you need to be able to do more than that or you will never see the floor. Better to sign FAs to fill need.

This is absolutely the draft TO take a risk in. A developmental risk with an athletic SF or an underdeveloped big. You want to come out of this draft with a high upside player, not a one dimensional player undersized for his position or completely maxed out on talent.

Our roster is pretty set for next year. We'll have a few means to add immediate help in the offseason.(taxpayer MLE, vet min., Haywood's deal if we don't trade it now) Use the draft pick for someone who is not ready now but has the legit attributes to turn into a Jimmy Butler or a Gobert/Jordan in 3 years.

I totally agree, and that's why I still think we should take Robert Upshaw. I think if he's in the right environment he has the potential to be a really great player in this league. Just needs to mature. All the talent is there.

I don't think we want a 'developmental big'. We don't want to develop our way right through Lebron's retirement. This team's window is now. Grab a junior or senior who has solid size and one skill set that will give you something now, and plug him in as a backup. We gave up on developmental/future when we made the Wiggins trade, it's CHAMPIONSHIP TIME folks!

Mozgov is probably going to be our starting center for the LeBron window, but he is 28 so we need a long term solution. We can't rely on Andy and he only has a couple more years left anyways, so we need to find a backup option quickly and I would rather that be a young guy with some upside that we can bring along while Andy is here.

Don't forget that Kyrie will only be 28 or so and Love will be 32 or so when LeBron is either retired or done being a huge contributor, so we need to have some young guys too to keep this thing going.

This year has proven that it probably would be better to have some young guys developing on our bench than a bunch of dead wood vets (not to say that we shouldn't or won't have some of those guys sprinkled in as well).

I could definitely see Kaminsky sliding once teams start looking at athleticism and standing reach instead of actual production. Call it The Zeller Effect.

I view him as a better version of Olynyk, who ended up going 13. Plus, some of the underclassmen will be returning, so I would be shocked if he makes it out of the lotto. Don't get me wrong, I'd love if he falls to the Cavs, but I just don't see it happening.

Man, if we had the Miami pick....

we could of gotten one of the Kentucky centers if they fell into in the 10-14 range.

What do you guys think of D'Angelo Russell? I know we're not going to get him because he's going Top 4 for sure, but I'm just wondering what your thoughts are especially since I'd assume a lot of you guys watch OSU games like I do.

Personally, I think he has as much upside as anyone in this draft. He has it all in his game. Although his game isn't all that similar to Kyrie's, he makes it look so easy when he scores, which is something that reminds of Kyrie a lot. Honestly, if everything goes right, I don't see why he can't turn into what Brandon Roy could have been if he didn't get injured.

It's possible, but DX has him at #12 right now. Given his strong advanced stats, the fact he has led one of the better teams in the country, has improved each year, and is highly skilled makes me think it is unlikely he will fall far. Certainly not to the Cavs.

Speaking of Kaminsky, I said something snide about Sam Dekker upthread, but I think he would be a decent pick for the Cavs. He would be a combo forward who could potentially fill the role played by Marion this year. Asking Dekker to play that role as a rookie may be a bit much, but I think the Cavs will need someone like that next year.
