2015 NBA Offseason Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Barnes, and Ezili are both RFA's, and the Warriors aren't going into cap hell like we are willing to do. Plus they would have to dump Bogut. Losing Bogut, Ezili, and Barnes is a lot to pick up Durant who is a ? at this point with the injuries.

Says who?

And why would they have to lose Bogut? I just gave you the team salary WITH Bogut.

Says the team that just traded away a rotation player for cap relief. Sign Durant, next season Curry wants his 30 million too. Yeah fn right, they weren't willing to pay the extra 18m Lee costs. They likely stretch his contract out to 3.4/3, which will cut the tax bill more.

Cheap ownership, look what happened to OKC.

Edit: Unless you think KD would take a paycut to play there. 67+27 (30% max) is 94.

Sorry, this is BS.

Spurs are obviously good this year, but their big rotation is 30,33,34 and 39 years old. Green is 28. Spurs only main, young piece is Kawahi. If Mills, Anderson, whomever develop into Parker and Manu, then sure. But right now, they are long in the tooth, and go older this offseason.

Kyrie, Love, TT and Shumpert are all 26 or younger. Our "window" is alot longer than theirs, based on age.

Stop placing "Shumps" name in with them. He is a injury plagued player that has been around the block. Nor will he stay injury free this season. The Spurs are going for one last hurrah. They had a embarrassing loss in the opening round when they should have won the series at home. I would not be surprised if the big 3 and Pop don't all retire after the end of the season.

I think it's a bit of a stretch to call David Lee a rotation player for Golden State. If the roles were reversed, and the Cavs were paying a guy $18 million to sit on the end of the bench, I'm willing to bet they'd be looking to dump him.

MDog is right about the cap situation though, Golden State would have to do some maneuvering in order to have room to make a run at KD. A bigger cap number means more cap room, but it also means bigger max deals. If you think this year's contracts are crazy, just wait.

I am not quite sure what this means

Anyone see the 76ers summer game and if so how did Okafor look? He is a interesting player to me.

Dallas paid a lot of money for nothing. Yeah, D-Jordan is better than Tyson Chandler, but he is in no way a franchise player. The silver tongued Chandler Parsons has proclaimed that DJ will be a 20/20 guy. Yeah, ok. It is more likely that Kevin Love will become a virtuoso shot-blocker that rivals Larry Nance.

They lost their top scorer for Wes Matthews, who, when healthy, isn't the player Monta is. Add in a fucking torn achilles and that is just not a good deal by any measure. Also, they have no solid starting PG. Lateral move at best. Laughable disaster at worst. Cuban and company have made the mistake of buying into their own propaganda. DeAndre Jordan will regreat this in the end (short of the Mavs signing Durant next year).

If Wes Matthews make a miraculous recovery, they can compete for a top 4 seed with Houston and Memphis. He's a better all-around player than Monta Ellis. That's a big if though.

Of course they would. It makes no sense to pay a guy that kind of money to get a bunch of DNPs and give you very marginal production. You can pay a guy 1/10th that and get the same amount of production and minutes out of him.

Richaun Holmes was better, he is getting praises so far.
He was high on my list , would you have drafted him at 32 instead of Cedi?
Okafor to be effective needs the ball in his hand in the post, he is a good passer, can see above his man, and hsa really good post moves.
His problem is his FT and mid range shot, so far he has been ok.

Huge if. Like, elephant size if. No one is the same afterwards. Even if he returns 90% they cannot compete with SAS, GSW, OKC or MEM. This season anyway. I doubt Matthews replicates Monta's numbers this season with a comparable efficiency. I do expect to see Parsons' numbers to improve a bit.

I'm glad to see Aaron Gordon dominating this summer. I was a big fan of his coming out of Arizona, and it looks like he's taking that first big step toward actualizing his potential.

Even if Wes is healthy they still struggle to make the playoffs.

He has been fun to watch in these games...

Orlando will be looking to trade that Tobias contract by year end.
