2015 NBA Playoffs Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'd also give Leonard the nod over LBJ in spot up shooting, though LeBron does not shoot nearly as many spot up 3's as Leonard does.

Lebron had/has elite spot up shooting his last few seasons in Miami but he doesn't get as many spot up shots so far on the Cavs because he's handling the ball more/plays with people who don't know how to get him the ball for his sweet spots. From 2012-2013..

He crushed the rest of the league in PER last season with a 31.7, just shy of his career high. He shot a ridiculous 56.5 percent from the field. He scored more points in the paint per game than anybody else in the league. He dished out more assists than most point guards. He registered a higher rebound rate than Marc Gasol and Robin Lopez. Defensively, he's tall, quick and strong enough to guard just about anyone in the league, and he almost did.

And if all that wasn't enough, consider this: He now wields one of the most potent jumpers in the league. Only Jose Calderon averaged more points per spot-up play than James, according to Synergy Sports.

Most efficient spot-up players, 2012-13 regular season(Min. 100 plays)

Player Plays Points PPP

Jose Calderon 187 281 1.50

LeBron James 143 195 1.36

Kyle Korver 224 301 1.34

Steve Nash 114 153 1.32

Stephen Curry 226 294 1.30

James' name pops up near the top of all the jump-shot leaderboards for last season. And that includes the unguarded catch-and-shoot category, in which he effectively shot 73.1 percent once you account for the added value of 3s. Only five players were more lethal with open shots. While he couldn't find his shot in the Finals until the very end, he ended up converting 37.5 percent of his 3s in the postseason, which is well above average. (For perspective, Kevin Durant shot 31.3 percent from deep in the playoffs.)

Why Can LeBron James Shoot Three-Pointers All Of A Sudden

The Raptors are exactly who we thought they were. An it's a great tragedy that we didn't get them or the Bucks.

Spurs/Clippers is the only series where both teams have won a game.

And it is looking like that one will go 5 if last night is any indication.

Hawks getting b-slapped tonight. Calling it now.

Kawhi was finals MVP last year tho and Lebron was not. Leonard is sick and he is getting better. Yeah not a huge scorer, but the progress he made since entering the league? He didn't go top 5 because he was a poor shooter.

Leonard is the guy Lebron doesbt want to see this playoffs and that says a lot.

I bet he does.......payback time.

I just see no way the Cavs don't beat the Hawks in at least 5 games.

What has me optimistic if we play the Hawks is our ability to switch defensively with our TT-LBJ-Shump-JR-Kyrie lineup. Joe Johnson has been able to guard Horford effectively on switches.

I like how the Nets been playing, it could easily be tied if late shots went their way. On the other hand, Hawks dont look like a team that will advance to the finals.

Bulls/Cavs will be the ECF before the ECF so to say.

The Hawks look like the 8th seed right now. Getting destroyed.

Thinking about the Curry shot the other night, got me thinking...

If a player shoots the ball (ball has left his hand), time expires, and THEN is fouled on the follow through, is it still a foul? Even though the foul occurred AFTER the clock expired?

I would think not, but I'm not positive.

Nets playing well and moving the ball, hell even jarrett jack is playing defense

Yes it's a foul.

Fouls have nothing to do with the shot clock.
