2015 NFL Draft Thread - April 30 - May 2 - Chicago, IL

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It's not that I necessarily mind the players we're taking, I take serious issue with the thought behind it based on our team.

We are a bottom 5 offense and may have the worst combo of QB and offensive skill players in the league.

So how do we improve there? We don't. The only offensive player we've taken so far is at by far the best unit we have on the team. It makes no sense.

When we have the exact same offensive struggles next year, fingers need to be pointed at Farmer. This is getting ridiculous.

Offense was fine/good until Mack was injured. Without the additions of Bowe/Hartline.

Stopped watching after Chiefs pick and just got back. Anybody pick Strong yet?

They said the same about Terrell Suggs, speed can be overrated when it comes to pass rushing. His 40 is almost exactly the same as Suggs.

Not really concerned with his speed, but his ability to quickly burst off of the line. I hope he proves me wrong, but he just seems like a guy that will get stuffed by NFL offensive linemen. Seems like a good pick in the 4th round, not the 2nd.

Raiders seem to finally know what they are doing.

Good draft last year.

All the makings of a good one this year.

I think our reluctance to take receivers early in the draft is a byproduct of not having a franchise QB that we know is going to be steering the ship for years to come. Good organizations surround their franchise QBs with receiving corps that reflect the signal caller's strengths.

Manning and Brady have really smart, crafty receivers who can adjust at the line and read coverages perfectly.

Roethlisberger has speed demons who are excellent with hot reads and can improvise when he extends plays.

Romo, Cutler and Rodgers have always had the deep ball threats who can score at any moment.

We have... nothing. No quarterback and, in turn, a hodgepodge of a WR corps. Unless it's a can't miss guy (which we've also passed on, fwiw), it might make some sense to focus on other areas until we find a longterm answer at QB.

Just a thought.

With the theme of good character guys with every pick

My gut says Michael Bennett if he makes it

Edit: Nvm, he'll never make it past the Giants

Would have liked to take Strong after his drop. Its a shame the Texans, and even the Raiders are making the moves to improve drastically. I love our picks, but we could have moved around a little more and grabbed a WR to atleast play alongside the guys we have no. No need for a day 1 starter.

Not gonna click on everyone who quoted me but at some point, you need to have playmakers. Running the ball and stopping the run is great but you have to be able to pass and put up points to win games.

We have no big play guys on offense. We have no one who scares anyone. No matchup that gives teams difficulty. Terrible quarterback play. Teams are going to stack against the run and we have no one to punish them.

Our team is now super strong on the lines and defense and we're still going to struggle to win games just like every other team that builds this same way, simply because we're going to struggle to score. All we've done is build a great foundation for the next regime to start with because this one minimizes skill players to the point of absurdity.
