2015 Series #5 -|- Indians @ White Sox -|- April 20th, 21st, and 22nd.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Nobody gives a shit about his wins or that you consider his ERA of 3.43 to be "high." (Salazar - 4.25 btw)

He was better than Salazar by a wide margin last season.

Bad enough you're crying so much over the Indians that it makes these threads unreadable, no need to cry about how they didn't execute your inviable ideas this off-season too.

Let's see how 'fuck it we'll do it live' works for the Tigers now that their no. 2 can't seem to get through a rehab start. The Tigers are bashing other teams brains in like a 90s Tribe team. How far did they get with that approach I forget.

Good point but at least they'll be playing in October at a fighting chance.

Feel like the Indians start this way every year. They don't bury themselves, but they get far enough behind that they'll be playing catch up until September when they miss out on the playoffs narrowly. I think the wild card will be best case scenario this year (ugh) but we'll see.

If we can sweep the White Sox, would be sweet. Need to stop wasting Kluber starts.

Nobody is crying. I see you go to that word a lot when the precious Indians get bad mouthed.

His ERA is actually a 4.34

I dont go by just one year which was his best so it can be a fluke considering he's at a high 6 right now.

These threads are unreadable because the hitting is unwatchable which then brings posters here to bad mouth the team that is 4-7 with question marks.

Yes, why go with recent history when what he did five years ago as a 21-year-old is so relevant now.

Even if you want to go with recent history, his ERA over the last three years is 4.08, with an FIP of 3.70 and an ERA+ of 101.

That's simply a better track record than Salazar and makes him much more viable in such a trade.

I'll leave you to your reactionary hot-takes and the sweet taste of getting to beat your chest about how right you were with every loss.

Well at least with Porcello you know what he's about which is pretty mediocre. Salazar hasn't pitched 120 innings in a season yet, there's still potential untapped somewhere.

Everyone loves potential.

Potentially getting sent to the minors after spring training, potentially not a starter long-term without improving his command.

Potentially not what the Red Sox were interested in, considering they opted for a more proven innings eater who actually has proven he can last in the big leagues for more than 120 innings in a season.

So Porcello is a bum yet the Red Sox specifically targeted him when dealing Cespedes and promptly signed Porcello to a longterm deal afterwards.

You are entitled to whatever opinion you want of Porcello but the Red Sox pretty clearly disagreed. They shopped Cespedes for awhile before going with Porcello too- had they wanted a project like Salazar I think that is the route they would have gone.

We could also get into the fact that Cespedes has been the definition of mediocre in his career as well....But I digress.

It's that time of the year, entering the third week of the season with the Indians playing a touch less than .500.

Every arm chair GM will step away from their relentless bloviating about how terrible the team is to come up with their own ridiculous ideas that no other teams would have accepted this past off-season.

The team has no power so you remember what was available that could of should of been had. Of course losing badly would create the arm chair GMs.

You accept whatever they throw at you without caring for a winner.

That must be it, anyone who rejects your ridiculous trade offers just doesn't care about winning.

Hot take all around. Keep up the good work.

Sure thing Boobie Dibiasio.

I agree the offense is weak, but I don't really understand the "power" argument -
we have the 12th, 14th, 25th, and 28th highest HR hitters in the AL from last year.

In terms of just SLG% Brantley 9th, Gomes 12th, Moss 23rd, Santana 25th, Chiz 26th.

I think they have more problems stringing hits together than just pure power.

The hitting is just a mess peroid right now, but its been discussed time and time again how we lack a true cleanup hitter. Youre right though we do have more problems than just power.

Cespedes would have been the second best right-handed power hitter on the team, pretending he's coming in here and changing the dynamics of a lineup is hilariously false. Almost as bad as the thought that he's a "true cleanup hitter." :chuckle:

Of course, the Indians brought in a guy who was better than both of them in this regard.

But he hits left-handed...Doesn't count, they still don't care about winning.
