You like taking things out of context. We both know Cespedes isnt a true cleanup hitter.
Those types seem like a dying breed to the Tribe.
You're right, but you gotta take risks, and maybe trading Salazar would of been key for a RH cleanup hitter in return.
Your quote is accurate, but it's good you've walked it back since then.
Also worth noting:
Yoenis Cespedes vs. LHP
.199/.269/.397/.666
7 HR
17 RBI
We could also get into the fact that Cespedes has been the definition of mediocre in his career as well....But I digress.
It's that time of the year, entering the third week of the season with the Indians playing a touch less than .500.
Every arm chair GM will step away from their relentless bloviating about how terrible the team is to come up with their own ridiculous ideas that no other teams would have accepted this past off-season.
Keep thinking that they couldn't use him
Just another circle jerk- Boston wasn't looking for what the Tribe was selling (a talented but unproven and uncertain health wise Salazar). They wanted a proven starter that this team didn't have. In fact it looks like what Boston did was essentially use a guy they didn't want to snag a guy one year early that they were planning to pursue in FA anyway (Porcello). I just don't see where any of this is supposed to be headed. One 25 hr hitter is not going to revamp this lineup, and we still haven't seen the best of Moss yet.
