2015 Tank Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Shit, they grilled him so badly over that pick because they chose Ginn over Brady Quinn.

If Ireland was the man behind that pick, I'd imagine he got the last laugh.

Yeah, he might have reached on Ginn, but look at how Miami assembled their skill position players: Landry was a 2nd rounder, he drafted Rishard Matthews in the 7th. Tannehill isn't perfect, but he is a starter drafted in the mid 1st, good value. Ireland also found Hartline and Charles Clay on Day 3 picks. The history is there with Ireland, and as a backup plan to some hotter young names the Browns could do worse.

If we blow up the coaching staff, I'd want this guy to be the our new head coach. I like the idea of a defensive head coach, seeing as we're more terrible on that side of the ball these days. Belichick has been praising him and his football IQ for quite some time now.

He was an aeronautical engineer major at RPI and broke into the Patriots staff as an offensive assistant-- so I think he's more than smart enough to have a hand in the game planning on both sides of the ball.

The players love him, they play hard for him but he's not a hard ass, so there's more than a few people around here who probably wouldn't like him because he doesn't act like a child on the sidelines when someone makes a mistake.....

FWIW, I'm terrified the Browns will end up hiring someone like Greg Schiano, who Haslam was supposedly intrigued by because Belichick recommended him. If Pettine is deemed a "players coach", chances we hire a real ball buster like Schiano goes way up.

The tank just took a giant hit.
Flacco out for the season. Forrsett out. That defense is putrid and missing Suggs. They won today, but I would be amazed if they win another game. Like, seriously, if we lose to them on Monday night I would be amazed if Pet and Farmer make it to Tuesday. Ravens have to be the clear cut favorite to out tank everyone right now. Maybe Tennessee still, but I would be shocked if we lost to the Ravens at home with their best QB, RB, WR, and defensive player out.
I will still never rule out the Browns incompetence, but the tank train was thrown off the rails a bit.

I'd guess the Ravens draft defense or OL, but this is a tank. I'm shooting for #1 overall. The plaque for second place is hanging in the ladies room.

Terrance West rushes for 150 yards against us next week or this tank is bullshit.

We always ruin the tank.

Since the Expansion team went 2-14, we've drafted 3rd twice, and thats the best we've done, because we always pull out 2-3 BS win at the end of the year. This will be no different. 4-12 and picking 5th. Book it.

Wait, Buck Allen got hurt too? I thought it was just Forsett?

Right but with SF and CLE likely in the top 5 they could trade back and still get a damn good player

And they ain't tradin with the Browns. Johnny will have to be dialed in to pull off this tank

I hate that I agree with you.

History says you are right :(

You guys lack faith. It's true our tanks in the past have failed to stay strong through week 17. I remember the meaningless win streak to close out the 2009 campaign. But we didn't have Manziel. We didn't have Bademosi. Things are different this year, we are built to lose games in epic fashion. Everyone sees despair in Flacco's injury, but last time I checked, Johnny Football was still on our roster. Pettine even did the tank a solid by informing the whole league they don't have to worry about an over-achieving McCown. We're benching his productive ass to start the spectacular mess that is Johnny, and everyone has plenty of time to put a game plan in place.

I'm ready, rooting against my childhood team this season has been far more fun than rooting for them over the past decade has been. This year, they haven't let me down. (Save for that 2nd win of the season, totally unnecessary)

Chargers lose 33-3 to KC. Good luck being worse then that garbage team.

Luckily they and the Ravens, two teams that could probably finish worse than us won't need a QB.

But it could open up a bidding war though for teams like us that need one.

What an amazing day for the Browns draft prospects.

Three 2-7 teams win games. Dallas, Baltimore and Detroit all get a W.

That now leaves San Diego, Cleveland and Tennessee as the only 2 win teams in the league.

Browns just need to lose on Monday night and this will shape up nicely.

Chargers play the Jags next week and the Titans get the sinking Raiders at home.
