2016 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This is shaping up as the worst possible scenario for the draft for the Browns. They are locked in at #2 as long as the Titans also lose out. The Titans don't need a QB, but the Browns do. Any other QB hungry team in the top 5-7 knows that the Browns must be leapfrogged in order to get their guy. I assume Tennessee will sell out of the #1 slot because they will easily get at least 2 additional first rounders for dropping a few spots.

This assumes the Titans don't want one of the elite defensive talents or offensive lineman that sit atop the board.

The Titans aren't trading up a chance to get Bosa or Tunsil. They have needs like we have needs but they have no excuse to pass up on either of those two guys. They could win that division next season.

True-

They've got a nasty list of bad draft misfortunes

The fact of the matter remains (as long as the Browns don't upset KC or PIT) that the Browns will have Goff and/or Lynch available to them when they select.

The scenario itself seems great to me. What terrifies me is the group of decision makers responsible for executing on said scenario.

Yep. As each week goes by, the more I'm afraid they're going to stick with Johnny and pass on both Goff and Lynch.

Yep. Johnny hasn't shown much and has physical limitations, not to mention the off field crap... so of course, we'll keep Farmer, find a head coach who wants to coach Johnny and work with Ray, pass on Goff or Lynch and watch it all implode almost instantly while at least one of the QBs becomes a star.

It's amazing how this decision would be simple for any competent organization yet we'll be sweating it out for months.

To make matters worse, I think Tennessee will end up bitch slapping Indianapolis, allowing us to completely secure whatever prospect we want -- only furthering the stress of fucking up the most simplistic decision to ever be presented to the organization.

Just out of curiosity, do you guys think Mike Thomas has the speed to consistently create separation at this level?

I'm expecting a full house cleaning. Including Johnny being traded.

I know the Browns and specifically Haslam haven't done much to be given the benefit of the doubt, but I really think jimmys hand will almost be forced. The Pittsburgh game is going to be bad like 30 point loss bad. To end what is likely a 3-13 season with a loss like that and I think the house is cleaned on Monday

And I don't think there is a GM not named farmer dumb enough to pass on someone they have evaluated as a franchise quarterback because of Johnny. Even if that person really believed in Manziels talent for whatever reason the fact remains that he still is about as immature as they come. Pinning your hopes to a guy who lies to his head coach about what he is going to do on a bye week and said 'it will be nice to get away from things for a week' when he had 2 starts on the season is not something I would expect almost any GM to not be eager to do. Even if they were a bad GM in almost every other regard. Hell I would even expect farmer to move on if he's still around.

After we select Goff with the 1st pick should we try and trade back into the 1st or just wait for our 2nd rounder?

I wouldn't be so sure

Mariota injured his knee again today. Could be shut down for the year
