Let us all check with our scouting contacts and get back to you.

Possibly. I personally don't care. You see these negative opinions pop up whenever a prospect is anything other that prototypical.

Goff plays in an air raid offense, has a really slender build, is only a junior, etc. That kind of stuff sends some scouts running because it makes projection hard.

Who cares? He can learn to play in an NFL system, he can add weight to that frame, etc. Look at the traits and Goff has them all. Above average arm, accurate, quick footwork, intelligent, love of the game, etc.

When I wanted Mariota last year and Carr the year before, I read the exact same BS. At some point, you just have to ignore it.

If we would just stop acting like every QB prospect needs to be Andrew Luck to go #1, we'd realize a guy like Goff is actually really talented and absolutely worth it.

I like Goff more than I liked Bridgewater. And that's saying a lot.

To me he already flashes star quarterback traits and makes some very special throws. He consistently throws receivers open and is the type of QB that makes his receivers look better than their skill. Not saying he doesn't have flaws, but none of them are red flags to me.

But we're the Browns so you know we won't be getting him.

I am somewhat concerned that should Farmer/Pettine be retained for another season,

Step away from the ledge. Allow for me to help. In Farmer, we have a dude who was suspended 4 games for texting down to the sideline, talked about his vision of drafting players such as Nick Marshall, and recruited a few decent veterans while our can't miss 1st round picks are the laughing stock of the league. He is done.

Pettine might be a different story. It really comes down to if Haslem thinks he has lost the team. At times we play hard, but honestly, we have the most 14+ point losses this year of any team (I think), so are we really playing that hard?

I have our DC out of here the day after the season. I have our ST guy getting a promotion for ensuring the tank. I like our OC. I am mixed on Pettine, mostly favoring getting rid of him iff we find someone who wants to step in to some power role where they have a lot of say.

I think Farmer is awful, which is a shame, because I was really excited about his hire. Oops!

I like Goff more than any QB from the 2014 class, including Bridgewater. And I was perfectly comfortable picking Teddy with the pick the Browns used on Gilbert that year.

I do think Goff is slightly behind Winston and Mariota, but both of those guys are really good.

For me, this shit is getting incredibly old, and incredibly blown out of proportion. He was making an analogy that instead of fitting a square peg into a round hole, you make the hole fit the square peg. Marshall was an easy analogy because he was "forced" to play a different position, albeit a correct decision.

I didn't even know that. I think the other points have so much merit that they stand on their own. The biggest problem is the 1st rounders. The other stuff is me unsuccessfully trying to be funny while piling on other minor things. I am just not around Browns football enough to have the Nick Marshall thing get "incredibly old." I am a proud fair weather fan.

I think Goff can be just as good as Winston in the right situation if not better with great weapons around him.
Cle media is jumping all over Lynch, no surprise. They have not done their HW on Goff.

Wait, are you implying that the CLE media does anything other than regurgitating ESPNs talking heads?

No, you're one hundred percent correct--- I don't really like that the guy who is making final decisions goes into his first draft and... gets pushed over.

There's zero continuity top to bottom in terms of what the vision is. Every good team has it. We... never have since they came back. The president/GM needs to hire the guy who fits THEIR mold the best, instead of plug and pray. It's more infuriating that we have a general manager who got walked over for two picks that absolutely blew in retrospect in Manziel and Gilbert (granted, I always had thought Gilbert was a better safety than an outside CB, and never once compared his inability to get on the field last year over K'Waun to having talent--- different positions entirely) than it was to see Shelton (who I was headstrong against because scheme is the reason we can't stop the run, imo) and Erving, whom I really never even remotely considered to be a good prospect.

In 2014, I wanted Derek Carr. He was by far my number one QB in the draft.

In 2015, I wanted Bud Dupree and Breshad Perriman.

This year? Pretty sure I was the first person to be on the Pax Lynch bandwagon, but in all honesty? I hope our next GM realizes that this current team would ruin Lynch/Goff.

A team like San Fransisco, who went on a RAPID decline after building a new, expensive stadium, is DESPERATE for Jared Goff much like Tampa NEEDED Winston.

Rake. The. Coals.

Woof. Breshad Perriman would already have been labeled a bust in Cleveland. Bud Dupree is Nate Orchard with more potential.

Kendall Fuller (CB) from Virginia Tech has declared.

After being injured this season, some have him dropping to the 2nd round..

Browns have bigger needs, but that would be ridiculously good value at 33.

It's 32 the Pats lost their 1st.
