I'm not sure how the NBA changing a title affects any of you personally or dignified any kind of emotional response.

Adam Silver wants the publicity for the league, don't react to dumb shit and it cuts into the incentive to making "controversial" changes.

That's the best part of this L.
Live by the BRAY, die by the BRAY

Remember that the steroid era in baseball was brought down by that upright citizen and Rhodes scholar Jose Canseco. Only guy in MLB history to head a baseball over the fence for a GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!!

I shudder to think what NFL rule will have to be changed because of something Josh Gordon says or does.

I think "owner" really does rub players the wrong way. "The owner is trading people again." Sounds bad. A lot of them are part of ownership groups anyway.

Its amazing people can't see this. Its all business, not politics. Politics is just the cover.

NBA is a players league and Silver is a players commissioner. Really the anti-Goodell.

While I admit, the term owner is not offensive to me, I do understand the negative connotation to the term for African-Americans. This is one of those decicions that won't affect your daily life, or your life ever, and if you are offended or triggered it likely means it's you with the problem.

I would propose Majority Shareholder, instead of Governor, but whatever Silver wants to do is fine. He's been a great commissioner for the most part.

Marc Gasol to exercise 25.6M player option; would be silly for him not to,

Durant to decline 31.5M player option; presumably he looked at how the market was, even in his current state, and decided it would be silly for him not to.

Well, people own businesses. If you can’t call those people “owners”, you can’t describe what they do.

I mean, of COURSE they don’t “own” the employees, but to the extent that the franchise has value, the value belongs to them. People need to stop getting their panties all in a bunch.

That's over the top. As much as we might all want to make fun of the Warriors they do NOT wear panties.

They wear Jockey for Her.

They aren't even owners. They are franchisees. If you buy a MacDonald's, you don't own MacDonald's. It's not even an accurate term. Being accurate is important.

If they were owners, Donald Sterling would still be an owner. Which commissioner is ahead of your boss who owns/built his business?
