2018 ALDS | Cleveland Indians vs. Houston Astros | Starts Oct. 5th

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yes of course the issue is if you lose game 4, there is no game 5.

Hopefully it doesnt come down to it but im perfectly okay pitching kluber on short rest.

They did this last year and it was a disaster, they've made it a point not to have this happen again.

You've got good pitching, use it.

Anyone going to any games this series?

Going to game 4 with my dad if we don’t sweep, but might go to game 3 as well

Have tickets to 3 and 4, but gave 3 to family members.

Would love to go, but I’m playing in a charity basketball game that night.

Some key Indians in their career against Verlander:

Lindor - .345/.424/.552 in 29 AB
Ramirez - .407/.500/.741 in 27 AB
Brantley - .289/.333/.342 in 76 AB
Encarnacion - .114/.162/.286 in 35 AB
Donaldson - .333/.429/..389 in 18 AB

Now, we are just waiting on the postseason roster so we can debate that now lol

Francona confirms that Clevinger will start game 3 and Bauer will start game 4 UNLESS Bauer gets used in relief in games 1, 2 or 3 in which case Bieber will start game 4.

No Kluber on short rest.

Hmmmmmmm

I don't think it's that tough. Plan on pitching Bauer in game 4, but use him as a multi-inning reliever if you need him in the first 3 games.

If you do end up using him in relief, simply bump him back to game 5, and use Bieber in 4 with Carrasco and Kluber available in relief.

The implication I got is that Carrasco would also be available out of the pen in a game 5 scenario as well since he'd be on normal rest.

Unlike last year I think Tito is taking a "no-holds-barred" approach to the pitching, which makes me salivate.

I still recall with amusement how Boston deployed Sale out of the pen in Game 4 last year and Houston countered with Verlander.

With our pitching we need that kind of aggressive, go-for-broke mentality and extort everything we can out of it. This pitching matchup should be epic.

I'm not sure what more you wanted Tito to do in terms of going "no-holds-barred" last year. If anything, he should have eased up.
