2019 NBA Draft Lottery

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
@LifeOfABruin

Goga Bitadze’s last five games in the Serbian League Per 36: 30.3/13.1/2.9/1.3/3.4, on 66.9% TS This is a fucking 19 year old dominating grown men. Oh yeah...he’s also shooting 44% from three on 3.2 attempts per game. If the Lakers don’t work him out I might cry.

We better take a close look at this guy,,, I would hate to miss out on a Jokic type player to draft some mediocre Cam Reddish wing.

We need this guy.

I have a great feeling about him.

I think he is the safest high upside pick.

I agree but think it is a good thing. I am not a huge fan of his but can see the potential, has good basketball IQ can shot and has some athleticism. The thing about him is if he is coachable and willing to work. I think the FO and ownership saw what LJ brought off the court as far as a work ethic and drive to great. When he left the first time we did not have any other players with that drive, even Irving did not have it. The second time around I think the FO payed closer attention to what makes LJ great and how important it is to have guys with smart basketball IQ and the drive to be better. It’s part of the reason I loved that we kept Love and Frye. Need that type of mindset to mold these young players. I know most on here want to tank for another top pick but I really feel if we grab the right guy this year, we have the talent to make a run for the playoffs or atleast be a competitive team week in and week out. My biggest worry is we become the Kings, Suns, that get high draft pics, and don’t pair them with the right roster.

I don't think this draft should be about fit unless there is no one they think can be a long term impact player. This team needs to find top quality players to be relevant again regardless of position. The Kings got stuck because they just continuously drafted players that ended up failing.

In this day & age of perimeter-dominated basketball, how do you take a big guy that isn’t significantly better than any perimeter player you’re also considering? The traditional big man is slowly dying and may one day be extinct in the NBA.

Hard for a dead guy to know about basketball.

He shoots 3's at an elite clip and blocks shots. There are very few examples of guys like him.

I would be on board with Goga at 5 if they trade Love, and no way otherwise

Admitting that I don't know all this stuff like most of you, so looked up Goga, seen some video. Nice prospect, with the touch and that flip shot is a nice weapon. But are we talking the 5 or 26 pick for Goga?
We got Zizic as a prospect in a big. We got to get 5 right.

The one problem with Culver is when people started talking about him here, I would check out Texas tech games to see for myself what people were seeing. The problem was he never really stuck out to me. I had to check what number he was online and really focus in on him. Usually guys that are suppose to be this talented just jump out and you just notice who they are.
I have this issue whenever the Cavs(Browns included) take a player from a school I see,but don't remember the player they select standing out.
Usually that player fades off the scene.

I think this gets addressed sooner rather than later. The pendulum has swung to far for the little guy that they need to do something for the big guy finally. Shrink the lane or something.

This really doesn't make any sense. Love can take the rookie under his wing and mentor him. Honestly if Goga is the guy then no reason to trade Love immediately. You trade him when its time, not just to make room for a rookie.

Actually, he may well be better than any of the perimeter player alternatives out there. The perimeter guys available from 5 on down all have significant question marks.

I think the death of the big man is overstated anyway. It's a product of everyone looking at GSW's small-ball lineup and saying you can't play big. But GSW is something of a unicorn, and unlikely to be repeated. If you look at the seven other conference semifinalists, you see Embiid, Horford, Capela, Jokic, Gasol, Lopez, and Nurkic. So why not Goga?

And you can argue that having a 7 foot sf who plays center is the way they get away with this. He blocks shots and hits 3s. When Bogut/Pachulia wasn't available and they had no Durant, teams like Memphis would give them a run for their money.

Like if Golden State had to go through Boston, Toronto, Milwaukee things would be different. Great rebounding teams with dominant bigs are something they have very rarely encountered in the west. Memphis and OKC come to mind and both were problems for them before Durant. An underrated reason the Cavs beat them was they dominated the boards.
