2023-2024 Cleveland Guardians Offseason Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I just looked at the top 50 prospect list and you might be right. Still think top 80 might be in reach with a lotto ticket or two thrown in.
Top 80 works for me.. I think I know who you are referring to.. as well..

Is there a rule in MLB that a candidate can't be interviewed if they are working for a team that's in the postseason?
I have absolutely no idea.

I imagine it makes things difficult. Plus it might just not be great to announce someone leaving while your team is still competing.

Gotcha. I remember that it was already announced that Derek Falvey was taking the Twins job, while we were in the 2016 postseason and he was still in our front office.

This offseason begins in the way we all thought it would...

Look for the manager "issue" to be solved before any roster moves are made.
How awkward does it end up getting if Terry takes a few weeks off and goes 'hell I think I can go one more year'? Why else not just announce your retirement?

I believe they have to ask the FO of the team, if they can ask the coach for the interview and whatnot, but I don't believe any coaches would leave during the playoffs, so it's likely the interview would happen, but no hiring would be announced until after the season ends for that team...

There are about seven primary locations that are being rennovated..

This 4 minute video presents what they have in mind...

e.g. Terrace Club becomes the Terrace Hub..
Seems like if you want a beer you can close your eyes and walk 10 paces in any direction and find one. The video also just makes me realize that the amount of food made for 1 well-attended game can probably feed a small country. Negativity aside, renovations seem good. I like trying to mix up where I sit each time I go to a game. I have high hopes for the team next year and am moving to Cleveland in a week so there are many games in my future.

Renovation video reminds me a lot of what the Rangers' ballpark looks like inside.

It's almost like they copied it.

Home plate looks exactly the same. Every base looks IDENTICAL and eyeballing it, I think the distances between the bases are the same as well. The white line all the way from home plate down first and third bases to the foul poles? Identical. The hill in the not-quite-middle of the diamond? Total rip-off. They even copied the part-grass, part-dirt aesthetic.

It's embarrassing.

They should just rename it Progressive Bar and Grill after this.
