....DM grew up a Cavs fan?! I guess it makes sense but how am I just now learning that lol
He was a LeBron fan lol which made him a Cavs fan technically. I bet he became a Heat fan.

Ya that's what I figured... I was a Marlins and Jordan fan when I was 8...sorry, and yes including that year.

ETA:
- I'm the only one in my family into sports, including playing sports
- Jordan, come on
- Little League team was the Marlins and I liked the color teal :chuckle:

Cleaningtheglass.com has an interesting statistic they call "location effective field goal percentage". Here is the explanation:

"If this team shot the league average field goal percentage from each location, what would their effective field goal percentage be? This gives us a sense of the efficiency of each team's shot profile".

The Cavaliers rank 1st in the NBA in this category. IOW, if they just shot the league average from the locations where they took their shots, just average, they would lead the NBA in effective field goal percentage. Where do they actually rank? 14th.

The Cavs are the best team in the NBA at getting good shots. If they were just average at making shots from those locations they would lead the league in effective shooting percentage. But they're such bad shooters they rank 14th in eFG.

Teams give us shots because they think we won’t make them.

Gotta give the Knicks credit. They are a man's man team.
Just watched them get 23 offensive rebounds against the Sixers and outscore them on second chance points 26-8. The Knicks won by 7.

After watching Philly get hammered I'm not as down on the Cavs for getting killed on the defensive glass last spring. The Sixers just got the same treatment, maybe even worse. The Knicks are animals on the offensive glass. It seems like three of them are hitting the glass on every shot.

Mitch Robinson had seven offensive boards, Hartenstein had five, Hart had four, and even 5'10" point guard Jalen Brunson had five offensive rebounds. They ALL hit the glass.

Offensive rebounds and second chance points are the only reason they won. Well, they did hit three 3's down the stretch when Philly doubled Brunson and forced him to pass off. Hart shot 31% on 3's this year but was 4-for-8 tonight.

The hero was Miles McBride, a 3rd year pro who was a 2nd round pick. He was a +37 in 28 minutes, meaning the Knicks were outscored by 30 in the 20 minutes he was on the bench. McBride was 5-for-7 on 3's.

10 takeaways from today in the NBA:

1) If the last game of the regular season told us anything, the Magic were serious about unleashing Jonathan Isaac (10 points, 5 rebounds, 6 stocks). He drew the start at center again over Wendell Carter Jr. and played 29 minutes. Obviously didn’t solve any problems scoring.

Orlando entered the playoffs with the worst offense left and well ... still are. You ain’t gonna win many playoff games with an 86.5 ORTG.

“I had 9 of our 12 turnovers. So, I don’t plan on doing that ever again.” - Paolo Banchero

2) Donovan Mitchell (30 points, 3 steals) has his bounce back. No, seriously. Dunked for just the second time since the All-Star break. Probably the healthiest he’s looked in over a month.

The bigs did their part to contribute. Evan Mobley scored a playoff career-high 16 points. He’s quietly shooting 45.8% on threes since returning from injury a month ago. Jarrett Allen dominated the glass with 18 boards. Darius Garland (8 assists) gonna have to be monitored btw. His back tightened mid-game but he played through it.

Cavs had 17 turnovers and shot 8-for-30 on 3-pointers. Still beat the Magic 97-83.

“It’s great to get a win. It’s a feel-good. I won’t tell you how it feels until we get a 4-0 and another one and another one and another one.” - Donovan Mitchell
