Turning to Dre'Mont is a fine plan B after striking out on Hargrave. We as fans may want to see a tackle who is more of a space eater and run stopper, but it looks like Berry is prioritizing elite pass rush and youth over stopping the run. DreMont is the player I always pictured Perrion Winfrey developing into as a high end comp. Securing both certainly puts the three tech in good hands, but a one tech was sorely lacking last season.
I've thought Fletcher Cox would be a great signing for two reasons: One, he provides a starting level iDL this year and knows Schwartz's defense... Two, he provides a prime example of what Winfrey should do as a professional, to which I think would be really valuable for his growth..

It will be interesting to see how Berry spends with respect to the draft picks he's made the last three years in Elliott, Togiai and Winfrey... Really only Winfrey deserves a spot moving forward and that is dependent on his head staying on straight..

Bengals slightly weaker
Bengals are gonna be losing multiple plus starters on a defense that has been elite the last year and a half.

Going to be a real interesting year for them, especially when considering the looming contract negotiations with Burrow, Chase and Higgins.

Not unexpected as the Bears post DJ Moore acquisition still had 60M+ in cap space and a very porous roster.

Second LB signed by them today though so clearly moving on from Nicholas Morrow, who has been mentioned as a Browns option

Massive money though.

Bears are the most talked about team for Jones along with the Browns right ?

Not sure if that’s a good sign or bad sign since they have so much money but perhaps they went harder on Edmunds to make a defensive splash if Jones seemed more likely to go elsewhere.

Good observation. Have to wonder how much of the Browns/Jones smoke is mutual interest vs. the Player Agent using an easy to connect the dots hook(hometown guy, Browns position of need) to drive up his price for other teams.

Yep, yep, I'm with you

Fletcher Cox is an absolute genetic marvel. It might be misleading because their combine weights are 290 vs 298, but Winfrey doesn't have the size, strength, or freakish nimbleness at that size that Cox does.

One thing Cox can do is teach Winfrey how to be an effective 3-tech in Schwartz's scheme--something that he did at an exceptional level. I'm pretty sure Cox was a pro-bowler every year for Schwartz.

It will be interesting to see how Berry spends with respect to the draft picks he's made the last three years in Elliott, Togiai and Winfrey... Really only Winfrey deserves a spot moving forward and that is dependent on his head staying on straight..
Agreed. I'm over Elliott and Togiai.

Of course, I was over Takitaki last year, and he ended up having the best year of his career... so who knows

It is bizarre the Bears wouldn’t pay Roquan but went out and replaced him with another high priced off ball LB

Hargrave and Cox were both in the 60% neighborhood for Eagles snap counts. Cox served as more of a run stopper with Hargrave shading three tech, but they are both exceptional tackles. I'd be happy with Cox, I just don't think he's the headliner of a free agent class. The first day of ta.pering is for QBs and monster contracts. I don't believe we will hear about Cox for a few days.

Bears paying $25M AAV for two off-ball LBs and $10M AAV for an okay starting guard is, a choice…

Between that and Poles trading #32 for Claypool, feels like a GM on his way to he ousted in a few years time..

Gotta wonder what Wagner goes for. Hes older hut still plays at an elite level and plays every game.
