2024 Guardians Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't know Zin. Fry is getting reps back there and I think that they might view him as the backup to Bo. Maybe you're right though and I've obviously had no conversations with any insiders about it so it's all best guess.
I think they want to find out if Fry can catch well enough to be the backup and they have a bunch of catchers to work with him including the manager.

Then would you agree that those reps are important to determine if Fry is the guy?

Either way, his bat is good enough to be in the lineup. But, if you're not inserting him at catcher, there aren't a whole lot of options available outside of an occasional start in the corner OF spots or DH/1B (again, limited).

Ideally, you want to avoid having to rely on him in the OF with better defenders available.

I don't think they view Fry as the primary backup C. Our pitchers are mostly young and could use all the veteran catching help they can get.
However, I do think they view Fry as a Ben Zobrist type. He might be a starter in half the games - somewhere.

I feel the same way, at least right now... Hence why I think we will end up with Hedges/or another catcher on the roster next season to go along with Bo and Fry. Though I wouldn't be surprised to see Fry, be someone's primary catcher IF rapport is there...

That "bad" A's team we've been beating up on to inflate our numbers just shut out the damn Yankees, 2-0.

.. yankee fans are claiming the loss to the A's was due to a combination of:

- the after effects of the solar eclipse
- the almost certainly planted A's fan who heckled the home plate umpire to get Boone thrown out..

It couldn't be JP Sears and his array of fastballs up and sliders/change ups down to an overly aggressive group of hitters trying to show they couldn't and wouldn't lose to the A's... yeah. that's what happened !!..

That horrible Oakland team is 8-8 excluding their Cleveland games. We’re the reason why Oakland’s record is so poor but get no credit for beating them.
Cleveland very rarely gets national credit for much, no matter if it's hoops, pigskin or america's favorite past time, outside of a deep postseason run.... Just Win Baby!
