Agree, seems like Olson has gotten every pitch on the corners. Just be consistent.Lots of inconsistency with the zone....
This is PovertyBall, bro: you can't build a 5 man rotation in a tight window without some filler. I mean, if they can assemble a Kluber, Cookie, Bauer, Clevinger rotation again, awesome! But in a more likely scenario, you have to settle for a couple serviceable guys around the Bibees and Biebers and Tugboats. Hell, we watched the 2016 team almost win the whole fucking thing with Lil Cowboy Josh Tomlin getting the 2nd most starts on the team. This legacy front office finally figured out how to draft; now they need to look back into the ancient texts and find the old reclamation spells that got Shapiro through his years here to add to their spell book.Trying to polish a junk heap pitcher very seldom works.
You can polish a turd all you want, but its still a turd.
If thats how we are gonna try to compete, its gonna be a long, barren stretch.
look at the early returns for Tommy Mace and Aaron Davenport... ( and to a much lesser degree, Rodney Boone).. a shock promotion for a start here or there wouldn't be out of the question..I get that, just our solutions from within are looking pretty bleak, even a few years down the road. Who do we have starter-wise? I think the best we can hope for is someone like Cantillo figures something out but he looks a distance away, compounded by the injury. Our other options are mostly getting blasted like Dion and Curry, or are too far away. Maybe Messick can rise in the minors quickly enough but I don't even see him being there in 2025 honestly.
Nick Sandlin might be our most underappreciated reliever.
Don't count out Nikhazy either.look at the early returns for Tommy Mace and Aaron Davenport... ( and to a much lesser degree, Rodney Boone).. a shock promotion for a start here or there wouldn't be out of the question..
