What pisses me off about Gee is that he has the frame and athleticism to be a solid starter, but he isn't.

I mean, he wasn't under contract most of the offseason, so hopefully the lack of development is due to that.

Zeller/Andy gets the ball in the high post, constant off-ball screens and slashing from Waiters/Gee... Hit the cutter. No luck, get it out to Kyrie to iso or reset. TT in the block for the rebound. Textbook Princeton Offense

We have alot of guys were misusing. Gee should have Kawai Leonard's role right now. Play D, and we dont even care what you do offensivly. But were asking him to be an option, and I would hope it makes him better in the long run. Andy should be coming off the bench at C or starting PF. Waiters should be coming off the bench, or have a 6th man role. I mean this team just has a gross lack of talent. When we get talent, players will start falling into their real jobs and we WILL be a really good team. Hard parts are watching this team, and for the FO going out and having the patience to get good players that fit.



But as a sidenote...im starting to wonder when making a move that matters comes into play during our "plan". Because if they do another CJ signing and call it an offseason like they did this year, im just gonna assume we dont want to win

Cj was a good idea, try to find guys cheap that might have a role in our system. It hasn't worked out, but a good idea. Grants plan is not to win now, it's to collect assets and build. Wizards are trying to do both and it's not a good idea
 
Anyone think that Alonzo Gee should be in the dunk contest this year? The guy has had some of my favorite dunks I've seen this year from any team...which is even better considering he isn't a "star".

I'd love to see Gee in the dunk contest, but he said it himself that he's a better in-game dunker than a "practice" dunker.

He's good at dunking on people and explosive two hand dunks. I'm not so sure he has a deep bag of trick dunks though.

Beyond frustrated with the way Alonzo plays. He has absolutely 0 basketball IQ. Not passing to guys on the break, not recognizing when our bigs have good position down low, not recognizing mismatches... And I don't get why a guy who should be a role player insists on holding the ball so long for iso's. He seems to kill ball rotation whenever he gets the ball. Seems like he just doesn't have a clue about what his role should be on the team.

I'm having a problem with the whole team not recognizing the weakside runner. Alonzo and Zeller both get down there fast and they are giving up several points a game.

I don't get the Gee hate at all. This guy came from the D league and is now our default starter because the other guys we got couldn't cut it. He has had some really good games this year, and always takes the toughest assignment on D from pg to pf. He is a pf from college who has added ball-handling, 3 point shooting, and wing defense to his repetoir in order to make it in the toughest league in the world. The fact he is playing in the NBA is a miracle, and I think he is going to be great as a long term backup at the sf position.
