He's not as bad as everyone is saying. Recently his shooting has been off, but his biggest issue is he is trying to create plays instead of finishing them. His defense is strong and thats his role on this team next season (if the draft goes well) come off the bench, d up the best wing,take the corner 3 or drive to the hole

He isnt starter quality. He is essentially a placeholder on this team. As Zeller, Waiters and Thompson improve this is going to become ever so much clearer.

Gee should be a bench rotation player for this team

I miss his midrange game. He used to be nearly automatic with the heavy crossover/stepback kinda move. Haven't seen that in...weeks? Months?

Dwayne Johnson would be a terrible SF. At 6.'5" I see him more as an undersized PF.

He is just fully embracing his role. He doesn't even need to score. If you think picking up pg's full court the entire time you are in the game is nothing, then do it yourself. "Offense, my defense is my offense". Gee nor Scott care about the offensive drop off

I don't think he's embracing his role at all. That's where a lot of my frustration with him comes. I see him out there trying isolate and score, refusing to give the ball up on fastbreaks and making other plays that just aren't a part of his role.

If he did embrace his role I don't think nearly as many people would be so frustrated with him.

So does anybody have any thoughts on what the hell happened in the first six minutes of the Denver game. Gee was on fire for some reason.

Non-offensive player hit his stride. Probably could've gone for 30+ if the team actually had ball movement...

I don't know when gee became a small forward. And then on top of it the cavs cross match gee on point guards to make it even worse. I don't really see much use for gee going forward. He had a nice game against Denver, but think he's not a fit.

He is a bench player. When he eventually moves to the bench down the line, he'll thrive on the lesser competition/responsibility. If he can continue to work with coaches this offseason I think he will make improvements again like we saw before the 2011-2012 season. He was deprived of a true offseason last year, but he certainly came back even better on defense.

Basically, he'll be a solid bench player when the time comes.

Having an athlete of his quality is valuable off of any bench. He won't ever be a sixth-man, 'super-sub' type, but his defensive energy and athleticism provides a spark to any second unit. I really wish he would cut the three point shot out of his arsenal, though. If he only drove with the idea of using his drive to get off a good pass, the first team would have more chemistry IMO

If he can't hit the three, then it will be time to start looking for a replacement. He needs to keep working on it to provide spacing when he is in. Normally, he will only be asked to shoot it when he is wide open. He absolutely needs to at least be an average shot with it. If he can't, then I don't want him here. We'll find someone else better at it to fill his role. He needs to be a three and dee player.

I should have phrased it better. I don't mind him taking the wide-open 3s. I would love if he limited his 3 point attempts to the corners and being wide open. I haven't seen it as much lately, but earlier in the year he was shooting those wing 3s off the dribble and they are just nasty. He does need to hit the corner 3 ball at a decent clip, but I don't want to see him forcing outside shots just because he is a smidge open. The corner provides the most spacing and is one of the most efficient shots on the court, I'd like to see him specialize in that area rather than trying to launch from all over the perimeter.
