Amar'e Safari 2015 Reboot - Fooled Thrice

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Amar'e Safari (Get on or die)

what reports are those?

Windy's tweet last night.

Good chance the Suns make a decision on all this before Tues. game at MEM. As @amareisreal's tweet shows, it is a distraction.

Sure, things could change, but it's apparent that this was a huge distraction for everyone.

Especially for US.

Re: Amar'e Safari (Get on or die)

I think we're in a better position than people think. Phoenix is going to take our deal today if Miami doesn't have a reasonable idea involving a third team. It's easy to say you're gonna find a third team to make the deal work, it's much more difficult to pull it off. We have a "fair," sure thing on the table. The Suns aren't gonna pass it up unless they are almost 100% sure they can get another cap-clearing move, which isn't likely.

That's the optimistic way to look at it...hopefully you are right, at least it makes sense, but with the Suns you never know. It's not like they are in love with our offer.

Man, it's refreshing to read common sense every few posts.

Re: Amar'e Safari (Get on or die)

Although his recent trade history may indicate otherwise, Kerr is plenty smart enough to sniff this out if it were the case.

The Suns, Cavs and Heat all have a pretty good idea of who the Heat would be able to land via a three way. It's not like Riley can trick Kerr into thinking he's going to land them Kevin Durant if they wait a few extra days.

I think people get way too into the whole "smokescreen" thing. For the most part these are intelligent guys running teams. They know when they are being yanked around.

It's in the Suns best interest to wait as long as possible to make a deal. If the Cavs have the best offer, they will realize this and accept it.

I think you also have to consider that Kerr and Ferry are best friends. They aren't tricking each other, there will be clear communication.

Re: Amar'e Safari (Get on or die)

as of the moment the suns are getting an expiring contract and a nice prospect. i would also wait and see if a better offer comes along for a perrenial all star if i were kerr. it really wouldnt bother me how many RCF followers had blue balls.

The problem isn't us. The problem is that Sarver isn't going to want to potentially lose out on Z's contract. If we move on to our other options, they are in trouble.

Re: Amar'e Safari (Get on or die)

Phoenix radio show saying they would take the Cavs deal and run with it.

Re: Amar'e Safari (Get on or die)

I think we can wait this thing out though. Really, how many other teams are going hard after Jamison? There was a flimsy report about Miami going after him but imo that was just BS put out there by Miami. Who else is going after Murphy? I think we will wait until Thursday if necessary.

Re: Amar'e Safari (Get on or die)

Windhorst last night. Plus, Woj said to expect a flurry of moves today.

The Suns insider also said he expects them to decide on our offer by tonight.

Exactly. Ferry has the upper with ALL teams involved. Why? Because the Cavs do not have to do a damn thing. The other teams are not going to win the title this year. The other teams don't have the bucks that Ferry has to transfer to them in order to save the bucks the owners want to save. Miami "cannot" come up with a third team TODAY. No way. They can't save teams the bucks the Cavs can. No way.

We will know if Amare is a Cav by game time tonight. Ferry will move on to other options by tonight. Kerr knows this.

If Ferry has to move on because Phoenix will not finalize the trade with him, then he waits it out with Indiana, the Wiz, or another team's options. The Cavs are the team with the most possibility of another team saving the most cap relief. The Cavs hold the Ace in all of this.

Be patient. :)

Re: Amar'e Safari (Get on or die)

For the record, I still think we do land Amare, and I expect the news to break today. Riley can play all the mind games he wants, but Ferry does what he says he'll do in negotiations. He's proven that with free agents, and with other teams involved in trades. Riley would have to prove he can make something more substantial than Ferry's offer appear by tonight, or else Kerr will lose the Cleveland option.

The thing that seems to be holding this deal up the most to me is whether or not Amare would agree to an extension with Phoenix. It sounds like their numbers aren't as far off as originally reported, and it's very possible Phoenix ends up signing Amare to an extension and keeping him.

That being said, if this trade doesn't happen today, I would then be shocked if it happened at all. Ferry isn't likely to stand pat this year... he has a great chance at strengthening this roster before the playoffs, and he's almost certainly going to take it.

Re: Amar'e Safari (Get on or die)

I think both sides are getting a bit tired of this thing dragging out. Amare is tired of it. Suns managment is tired of hearing all of it. Cavs fans and Phoenix fans are tired of it. Just pull the freakin trigger Suns! DO THE RIGHT THING!:chuckles:

Re: Amar'e Safari (Get on or die)

we will figure out who is really in charge of the Suns today,

1. if the suns take the cavs trade =$arver

2. if they reject the cavs trade= Kerr
