Anderson Varejao

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Varejao doesn't get enough love anymore. 16 and 7 tonight.

That's right. 16 rebounds and 7 assists. Team leader in both stats.

Led the team with 3 steals, too. And yes, I think he's under appreciated too.

I know he should be traded but I hope he finishes his career as a Cav

The ONLY way we trade him is for a DPOY rim protector. Otherwise our depth at the center position just craters. It is very difficult to duplicate what Andy gives you on the court...and I'm not talking about just box score stuff. His basketball IQ is fantastic.

Andy would be my team MVP this season. (Would be Deng but he's too new.) He's been consistently awesome the entire year.

If they're trying to make the playoffs this year, they really can't trade him.

I can't help but see us shifting into win mode. MB changed and shortened the rotation, and the whole time i'm just waiting for Andy to get hurt. I really hope it doesn't happen but it would be just our luck.

Deng on Andy (paraphrased?): "I didn't know he was such a smart player"

Sims is ready to lead us to the promised land.

The offense ran great last year thru Andy. He just makes great reads. Crazy game for him tonight. Loved that Kyrie is being reminded how to play with Andy by Deng.

That pass to Deng was a thing of beauty. The little time they've played together they've had some nice plays.

I don't want to see Andy hurt either, so I'd like to think that's the primary reason Earl Clark stays in the rotation. A guy less injury prone, you could probably play just the 3 bigs and go small ball for a small amount of time with Deng at the 4. But that would require Varejao playing more minutes.

Need another big to move Earl Clark out of the rotation but keep Andy's minutes down.

Phil Jackson would be riding Varejao. He's playing like an all star. At some point you gotta stop worrying about him. That time is now.

No. The last thing we need is to "ride him" and have Andy suffer a season ending injury in February. That's literally the worst possible outcome for this team. What Andy does is so integral to this team's success, if he went down we'd end up in that 11-14 lottery pick purgatory that everyone dreads.

Not sure you ever saw Jackson really coach.

We can ride Andy in the playoffs. The time is not now. Not even close. You don't risk running him into the ground in January when if he gets hurt now we are screwed for the playoffs and making anything interesting.

Playoffs are one thing. January is another.
