Would you take that on if in return you get Iggy and a top 10 pick? (and of course Brand)

Yep, The pick most likely be top 6, we can snag a good talented prospect, makes up for Brand. I don't think Sixers will give it up.

Then we won't be able to make not even one deal for 6 years after the trade with the hard cap coming in two years, Dalembert is the way to go...

So the question I still have... Z, JJ, and a 1st for Iggy. Does Philly cave and take it at the deadline?

A low-ball offer for sure, but assuming they'd do it, doesnt Ferry have to pull the trigger?

Also, let's quit talking about Brand. It's making me sick to my stomach. Iggy only or bust...
I don't think they cave, no. Not enough talent for Iggy alone.

If Philly is willing to do it, Ferry should be fired if he doesn't pull the trigger.

However, I want Dalembert in the deal for reasons that have been stated about a dozen times. Adding him in the deal will only make it easier on us, anyway.

I'd argue the only Combo Guards on our entire team are Gibson & West. I've never seen Mo play anywhere other than PG. LBJ is absolutely NOT a combo guard. Wanna know why? Because he isnt a guard to begin with. I'm not saying he cant fill out the position WHEN NECESSARY, but he mpst certainly isnt a guard.

Hell, Gibson is barely a combo guard. He shoots like a 2, but he is defined as a PG. I'd argue that West is our only true combo guard by the definition that he can play the 1 & 2 fluidly.

BTW, I'd absolutely die for the lineup of

Mo
West
Iguodala
LeBron
AV

...as our crunch time lineup. We would have 3 of the NBAs best defenders and a very very solid one in D West out there at once, with Mo as our court general on O. Holy God, we would be unstoppable.

Answer one question for me... What position did LBJ play his rookie season?

I don't see how we can actually trade for brand and AI both.

We would have to sign wally to like a 12 M deal, and there is no way the league would allow that, or at least i wouldn't think that they would.

If I'm not mistaken, if all (besides Wally) it took was Z + Moon, we would only need to sign Wally for roughly $8.5 M or so (give or take). And I'm sure it would be more than just Z + Moon.

Agreed on every point... I think Philly is pretty much stuck in their current position, much like Washington and their hot mess of a franchise.

The financial climate of the league and the impending CBA negotiations are the only reason such wild trades are even remotely possible.

If Philly or Washington get desperate, and they just might, I think the Cavs jump in and fleece them of their best player.

Otherwise, we may be looking at standing pat at the deadline. Not the end of the world either, if anyone has been watching the Cavs destroy good teams without their top two PG's the last couple of weeks.

Andre Iguodala on this team is just a freakish thought, tho...

I'd give them Parker instead of Moon

Z
Wally S&T
Parker
JJ
3 million

(Next years Second)

FOR

Dalembert
Iggy

tough to say...the sixers are such a mess.

I think the sixers trade iguodala..and i think phoenix is a nice fit....but I have no idea if they are the best offer come feb 18.

i think its 75% they trade him though. We are in the red big time..need to cut salary.

looks like they're sticking with the top 5 protection if Brand is dealt (and I know, many dont want Brand)
while i cant deny brand was a bad contract..two firsts, younger player just to take on a contract with 3.5 years left after this year is a little ridiculous.

the sixers know brand cant be dealt..thts fine..he is playing his best ball as a sixer......he isnt rotting on the bench.

we'll see what happens....but i think the lack of interest in taking on brand contract and the lack of interest in giving up a possible top 5 pick...means...brand will stay..thats what i was told....

edit: and this was posted by a legit Suns insider:

I'm told nothing is happening until after the allstar game if anything happens at all.

We don't want brand though Philly tried to offer us Brand. Iggy and Dally is the deal on the table. No first. We could only get a first maybe if we take Brand but we don't want him.

Philly is the most likely trade unless something changes. Either Philly or we get a better offer elsewhere as so far we deem it the best on the table and likewise with Philly.

There is still a chance something else happens as teams will change offers, etc as the deadline nears. So nothing is set in stone yet but we'll see after the allstar game.

The cut salary part was great to read. Z's expiring is probably looking great to them. Also getting Wally on a 1 year deal would make them happy too. IDK im going to bed. I got class tomorrow.

Answer one question for me... What position did LBJ play his rookie season?

You are correct, when he was 6'7" 225 lbs he played the 2. Also, he did it because they werent sure what he was yet. We know better now because it isnt 2004. Its 2010.

Answer this question for me?

Is it still his rookie year?! Is he still 6'7" 225? Nope. He is nearly 6'9" 255 lbs. He is a SF or a PF position now.

You arent making bad arguments on stuff, he just isnt a combo guard because he isnt a guard at all anymore, thats all I'm saying. I agree with you on almost everything else.

He's actually 274 lbs. ;)

He listed as that, but I'm not sure if he is quite 274 but in any case, you understand what I'm saying though about the fact that he is just too enormous to be considered a combo guard. Thats really my biggest point.

I'd say the same about Iguodala. Without looking it up I'd say he's 6'6" 230 lbs. Too big to be a combo guard.

That suns poster at the end is kind of disappointing. When reading that it sounds like unless our offer gets better they're pretty much set to a Iggy for Amare swap. Makes zero sense imo if both teams are trying to save money, but it probably allows them to save face with their fans. Cowards.

If I'm going to dream alittle bit then I'll dream that we're somehow able to pry Iggy, Brand, and Philly's first round pick (top 3 protected?). If that were ever to happen, I'd seek out Ferry and mate with him.
