Andrew Wiggins

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This thread, man.

Reminds me of a lot of the talk that went on around the league about Kyrie Irving during his rookie season.

Wiggins is going to be great. Accept it.
Kyrie historically had one of the best rookie seasons of all time. Wiggins is putting up horrible numbers, even for a rookie. This isn't to say that Woggins won't be a good player, but that's a horrible comparison because Kyrie proved a lot more with his level of play than Wiggins has.

I remain in the "wish they hadn't traded him" camp. I see him at the Paul George/Pierce level-- top 10 player but probably not MVP material... Be interesting to see if he develops a killer instinct.

Of course, a lot of life can happen in a few years. I hated the Ron Harper trade at the time but Harper had a serious leg injury the year after the Ferry trade and was never the same player after that (still an awful trade, mind you).

Quick, name the only two teenagers in NBA history to score over 15 points a night while shooting 43% from the field.

@melecoaze I'd love to know why you disagree with a fact. I'm all ears!

He's 20. Bet that adds a lot more names to list when you include 20 year olds, doesn't it...

Lololol.....! Amazing that this fact gets lost on so many people.
I find it funny that you called it "this fact" when he's actually not a teenager, making it in essence not a fact. I can think of plenty 20 year olds like Wiggins who have surpassed 15 points and 43% shooting just in the last few years, including rookie Kyrie, who was a lot better than just the cutoff line.

If he stays at 15ppg 4rpg 1spg and a usage at over 20 he will be the 3rd player to do that when he started the season under 20 years old. The other 2 are Melo/Lebron and those 2 were expected to do that Wiggibs was suppose to be a raw rookie who would take 2-3years.

Stop, you're embarrassing yourself.

He's played the majority of games (65% across a full 82) this season as a 19-year-old, he only turned 20 two weeks ago. That indisputably means the 2014-15 NBA season will go down as his age-19 season. That's not by some crazy standard I invented, check out Wiggins Basketball-Reference page.

The only two players in NBA history to score over 15 points a night while shooting over 43% from the floor during their age-19 season are Kyrie Irving and Andrew Wiggins.

That's fact.

Some of the other best teenagers to ever play in the NBA didn't make the cut; LeBron James wasn't quite efficient enough (41.7%), and Kevin Garnett wasn't productive enough (10.4 PPG).

That's such an arbitrary statline...I'm not saying Wiggins can't be good. In fact, I don't knew why you would use a statistic that includes Carmelo because that doesn't really help your point of Wiggins being a generational player. Carmelo has always put up good stats but his advanced stats and team records have ways told a different story. He doesn't really impact the win column. Becoming a Paul George-caliber player (like I said he would be) is much better IMO than becoming a Carmelo-caliber player.

Besides I think those numbers are wrong. There's no way it's just Lebron and Carmelo. I can already think of a couple others who did that, I including Durant, so there must be plenty others.

What about Kevin Durant? He was young enough and met all your arbitrary statline cutoffs. And is Kyrie a generational player? You're just further proving my point! Lebron and lots of the other true generational players aren't on there but Kyrie and Wiggins are randomly on there. They'll both be good players for a long time, but they're obviously not two of the best ayers ever. Anyone can manipulate a stat like you did with ease. And like I said facts are facts, were wrong bout him being 19 even if his birthday was recent, so don't say that I'm the one embarrassing myself.
