Re: Andrew Wiggins (signed)
If you want to call Wiggins a defensive show stopper before he's played a real NBA game that's fine. Kind of looked like it at moments in summer league until he got his wheels shredded by Canaan.
His offense is atrocious. I like that he can out-jump most if not all of his opponents off the dribble and I believe he's trying hard to get that down pat. My problem is his inconsistent shooting. His shot is completely fucked up looking. He's lanky at the arms and his shot's have no rhythm. I'm not saying it won't work for him and I would even say it's going to improve greatly.
The problem I have is his ability or willingness to be a winner and that's not to say that he isn't but he hasn't shown it in the most crucial moments. We have LeBron James' greatness for maybe 4 years and probably less if we want to be realistic. I know he's superhuman but you can't out-age father time. He cramped up during the Spurs series when nobody else did... including almost 40 year olds. The man has played more than 120 games than D. Wade who is 32 years old...
This is Cleveland's time to strike for a championship that still have, even without Wiggins and with Love, a chance to be a cornerstone franchise for years to come.
There is no end in sight and the fact of the matter is that if we include Wiggins in the trade we could bypass giving away multiple first rounders whom might make our future that much brighter depending on the decisions of our front office. Just because the next draft or 2 (or 3) isn't like this one doesn't mean there isn't valuable players we could pick or trade for. You have to look to the future.
I'd take that risk.
We didn't have Wiggins or LeBron last year and we ranked 12th in team defense. Again.....what's the problem? We're upgrading the three and the four defensively from last year. Unreal upgrades offensively. I think a lot of you are batshit crazy. This is silly.
