I'm not very high on Spiller. In all his years in the league he still hasn't been able to separate himself from an aging Jackson in Buffalo. Jackson is still going to be handling the bulk of the passing downs and goaline work. Add in the fact that Buffalo is going to be trailing in the majority of their games this year. They are going to be passing more and running less in order to play catch up. I try to steer clear of running backs on bad teams because of this.So for my RB challenged team, would you guys consider buying low on CJ Spiller? If so, what would you consider a good offer for him? Obviously Calvin Johnson is not going to be involved. My other WRs are Jordy Nelson, Julio Jones, Cordarrelle Patterson, and DeAndre Hopkins. The guy I'm targeting has Ball, Murray, Spiller, Vereen, S. Jackson, and Greene as his RBs, and his receivers are Cruz, Marshall, Colston, and Wright, so I figured he's probably the best target in the league to address his team's needs and mine.
Thoughts?
I have a 10 team PPR redraft league. My roster stands at:
QB Russell Wilson
RB Adrian Peterson
RB Andre Ellington
WR Julio Jones
WR Alshon Jeffrey
TE Jason Witten
FLEX Andre Johnson
K Stephen Gostkowski
D/ST St. Louis Rams
BE Carlos Hyde
BE Dennis Pitta
BE Mike Evans
BE Danny Woodhead
BE Jeremy Hill
BE Teddy Bridgewater
I wound up going for rookie/potential on my bench a lot more than I intended going into the evening. That makes me a little nervous. What do you guys think? Any areas I should be really concerned about?
Also, we haven't even gotten to week one and I've had a trade offer. I was offered Vincent Jackson and Chris Johnson in return for Alshon Jeffrey and Carlos Hyde. My gut says not to do it, because I think a couple weeks into the season Hyde's stock is going to jump and Jeffrey will always be a step above Jackson. What do you guys think? Stand pat?
PPR, I'd start Woodhead in lieu of Ellington being out. Jeremy Hill will split carries with Gio, but Bernard will get the bulk of the carries and the passing down work. Hill will probably handle the goal line. Woodhead was a PPR beast last year. 76 receptions. He's definitely your next best bet.So of course my lack of depth at RB is scaring me already. Ellington is a game time decision. Do I hope he actually plays or do I sit him and risk playing a rookie (Hyde or Jeremy Hill)? Am I overreacting?
