Anthony Bennett

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That's my pool lol! It's the Independence Community Center indoor pool, not too far away from the practice facility. Going to have to go for a swim tomorrow.

Doubt they'll be there. Yesterday was yoga, today was the ICC pool, tomorrow is back to the practice facility i think. AB's hanging with some hard workers in that photo right there...Delly, Carick and Scotty all like to bust their asses. Good group for him to be around and working with.

Is that Scotty Hopson on the right? Totally forgot about him. I wonder if he can contribute at all? It was speculated that they signed him for his expiring, right? I wonder if there is a thought to keep him and give him CJ's minutes. There are so many question marks about this team. If a couple of these guys can contribute, the team will be pretty deep.

Holy crap, hardly even recognized Anthony Bennett! Dudes doin work.

Zen, you do realize that AB wasn't going to last past the 3rd pick in 2013, right? It was pretty widely known that the Wizards had a lot of interest in him. So did Charlotte. You can keep hanging your hat on the fact that he's 6'7" and cite that as evidence that he won't amount to much but it's annoying. Other teams in the lottery would've drafted him and made him their PF of the future so I don't see your point. You're coming across as trollish.

Size doesn't determine success in the NBA. Talent and skill do and it's obvious that AB has enough of both to do very well.

Oh I've said multiple times I can't fault Grant for the draft at all. It isn't ABs fault that he was drafted there either. I just am surprised that people keep saying he is our starting PF of the future, and projecting amazing things from him. Last years draft was essentially the ugly chick, and this years is Kelly Kapowski.

Also, to your point, Size absolutely is a factor in determining success in the NBA. If it wasn't the average NBA height wouldn't be 6'6.75, it would be somewhere closer to the general population which is 5'10.

Now, I know your point is that size is not the ONLY determining factor in success and with that I completely agree. However, if you are playing undersized you must be absolutely elite in other categories to makeup for it. The reason it has only happened a few times EVER is because it is such a difficult thing to make work.

I think hes a good kid. I just wish people would stop projecting him as our starting PF of the future. Lets hope he becomes a serviceable big off the bench and build from there.

On a side note, I just poured myself a little nightcap and I will be banning myself from this thread for the remainder of the evening to save myself from the RCF equivalent of the walk of shame tomorrow morning.

P.S. - Embiiiiiiiiiiiiiid

If I was good at computers, I'd photoshop Bennett's face on there.

People project him to be our PF of the future because he's 1000x more skilled than the alternative.....

Maybe a week ago, one of the hosts on 92.3 the fan, compared Bennett to Randle in this year's draft. He mentioned, Randle had about the same numbers as Bennett, playing five more minutes a game. Also, brought up the difference in competition, and the difference in quality of teammates.

Looks like the Front office hit a home run with their diabolical plan to remove ABs tonsils. No solid food for 3 weeks does a body good.

Just food for thought Carrick Felix is 6'4.75 without shoes 6'6 with. :hide: PF of the future.

It's because he's in the back row =D

Anthony Bennett is a superior prospect to Julius Randle, and I have no doubt will be a better NBA player.

Gotta love the RCF obsession with determining height from pictures. :chuckles:

I Love that some people still throw that "or 6'8" around still.

I wasn't talking about AB i was just talking about Felix I swear :chuckles:

Still, it truly amuses me how people will go to any length to convince themselves that a barely 6'7 starting pf is going to work out for us. I guess someone has to pioneer.

I'm so glad that we lucked our way into this pick so that I don't have to rest my hopes on a Chuck Hayes that can jump higher and allegedly (though not confirmed by results) shoot better. :runs: It isn't like you can score or defend when you are worried about the powerade bottle sneaking up on you anyway, so it is all inconsequential at this point

Pretty sure I spotted the phrase 6'7" in every one of your posts in this thread.

Good lord no he isn't. Randle's ability on the block is so far ahead of where Bennett is.
