Anthony Bennett

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He is bad right now
most impressive rookie to me is KJ Mcdaniels..

Bennett should always play against the Spurs. 20 points in the first game, 14/10 on Saturday against them.

Both of those Spurs games were over pretty early. In those games, Bennett scored much of his points in the 4th long after the game was decided and San Antonio was in maintenance mode. It's nice to see the kid find the hoop sometimes. San Antonio has a strong bench that doesn't slack off, so it's not completely meaningless.

Last night on the other hand, looks like Flip played Bennett at center when Dieng sat. Speights took Bennett to the cleaners in the 3rd and Bennett got the hook in the 4th. I guess he didn't earn any garbage minutes. On a team like the Wolves this season, making the coach happy is probably more important than scoring buckets. If you don't make the coach happy, the coach is going to play someone else, since the game is likely going to be out of hand anyway.

Anthony Bennett seems to be improving but looks like a tweener at PF. Should he play SF? And what is his ceiling?

Good rule of thumb: If you have to ask, they should play power forward. That's doubly true in the case of a player like Bennett who is better equipped to defend post players.

After seeing AB tonight I am appalled that we traded this guy. His torque and power on his jumps is astounding. His Jumpshot is ridiculously smooth and he has some of the best explosion we have seen since Larry Johnson.

He might be a little short but you don't play bball with the top of your head, he has ungodly wingspan and he could easily guard 4 and 5's. It is going to be a nightmare for the other team matchup wise.

Sarcasm?

It is such a huge relief to not have to hope this guy amounts to anything as an NBA player. You just feel bad for him out there at this point.

Yeah huge relief but at the same time a huge disappointment we drafted him

Hard to be. If that wasn't AB's worst pro game of his career, it was only because he didn't turn any layups into slapstick or set any comically lazy screens. 5 fouls in 11 minutes. You can't even blame the coach for pulling him because he's practically fouled out on his own.

Wolves are not going to pick up their 2017 team option in the fall if he keeps playing like this.

His biggest problem is he's back to not getting minutes. He hasn't broken 20 minutes in 3 weeks and is trending down towards that 15 minute a night mark. Maybe it's because the Minnesota coaching staff is stupid and they rely too much on Thad Young. But I'd say it' also just because he doesn't have the damn stamina to play bigger minutes.

I remember when max came in here after the draft when everybody was up in arms over drafting Bennett. I believed he described Bennett as a safe pick with a very low chance of busting. Don't want to pick on @Maximus , but it is quite funny that he is looking like one of the greatest busts to ever lace them up. I don't think there was a single person here that didn't shout "what the fuck" after he was drafted. The best part was everybody, including myself, doing our best to try and rationalize it. Man, so glad he is off our hands, and wow; what an incredibly bad draft pick.

People love to complain about trading the 1st round pick with Wiggins to get Love. I think of it as attaching a 1st rounder just to get Bennett off your hands. One of the worst contracts in the NBA. His value was highest on the day he was drafted.

Bennett has so much talent, I just don't understand why he's so bad.

If Barkley's soul was born into Bennett's body; I'm sure he'd make due.

It was plays like this that made you say "damn, this kid has some fucking talent, he's got to put it together soon."

I'm glad we no longer have to dream that one day Bennett would eventually pull his head out of his ass.

Or the most logical explanation that his minutes are trending down because he is completely incompetent.
