Not sure about y'all, but seems there is some garbage basketball going on when the team that jacks up the most ridiculous 3s often wins. It makes for a boring game, imo. I wonder if anything can save it? 3 pointers are just worth too much probably... It's better to get 34% 3 pointers than 50% 2 pointers.

One solution could be change the point structure to 2 pointers become 3 pointers, and 3 pointers become 4 pointers. Yeah, it would break all the scoring records, but would help fix some problems...

Yeah, I put 5 pointers there too, just to show how it might stack up.

Another idea could be giving penalties for missing long 3 pointers? Or just getting rid of 3s all together.

What do you think?

I mean it doesn’t feel like real basketball.

Watching the Mavs play was just atrocious… Seeing guys drive and kick and then pass it around the perimeter on every other play just sucks…

Seeing 7 footers shooting 3’s as opposed to working on their post game is pretty lame as well…

It's just logical.

When you can be either an average 3pt shooter or a very good post player to produce the same amount of points, AND your team tells you that spacing the floor is something that will get you PT, the choice is easy.

Nothing wrong with working on your post game as well, but it's easy to see why modern bigs want to shoot from the perimeter. They're not any "softer" than previous generations.

You think 90's power forwards wanted to kill their bodies banging with bigs under the basket? Hell no. That was just the game back then.

Move the line back a couple of feet (uniformly, which would eliminate corner 3s), and narrow the lane to revive post offense. Also really reform foul calls

From a fan standpoint, it goes two ways. Either both teams get hot from 3 in the same game or only one does.

That first scenario is entertaining basketball. That second scenario ruins it for me because the team that makes the most 3s is likely always going to win; that's why these last two NBA finals games have box scores that look like blowouts.

1. Remove corner 3s
2. Remove defensive 3 second rule
3. Strictly enforce illegal screen rule
4. Allow interference when ball is in the cylinder

I mean you've seen in the two finals games the problem right now for the league.

Because of how prevelant the shot is, games just turn into blowouts really fast. Even evenly matched teams can rarely find a close game in a series now.

One team gets super hot for a few minutes and that's it. Game over.

It's making the post-season extremely boring.

I knew right when Big Z started jacking up 3s that the L was ruined.

Moving screens is really an underrated aspect of this that is poorly enforced. When you can push a guy off like Draymond does or hold someone, yeah the moving shooter gets a clean look easily.

I don't have respect for that and it is the same as grifting for fouls to me

But in all 3 major sports they keep tweaking the product to try to make it more appealing when in all reality people get into the sport because they enjoy the sport — they don’t get into the sport to hope people sit around an executive table to determine how they can alter the sport/rules etc…

Politics and big money have long ruined things.

Yes to what every one is saying. It really is just not very fun when one team gets hot and the other doesn't. I guess it's ok, and why we love college basketball, but they're just not as skilled in general, so getting "hot" really is a rare occurrence every 15 games or whatever, where in the NBA it can be basically every other game.

It's why GS was such an annoying team to play. It seemed by all accounts the Cavs were a "Better" team across the board, but if GS got hot.... it didn't matter at all. Still true today. It seems you could (and teams try it even) just put out 5 really good 3 point shooters with zero defense and have a half decent chance of winning any game in the NBA currently.
