Avengers: Endgame Spoilers Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Overall, I thought it was excellent and a great ending to an epic saga. Living up to the hype of a 22 movie story was going to be impossible in my opinion, but I thought the movie was highly entertaining especially the final hour and it delivered more emotion than I thought it would be able to do going in.

Plot was a bit paint by numbers and time travel almost always creates plot issues whether actual or perceived, but neither of those points took anything away from the movie for me.

Nitpicking here but two minor things stood out to me:
1) It felt like no-stones Thanos did as good of a job against if not a better job against Thor, Iron Man, and Captain American (with Thor's hammer) than 4-stones Thanos did against a lesser team in the last movie. I get that Thanos is a badass either way, but it just seemed a little off to me. After watching no-stones Thanos in Endgame, power stone Thanos should have wrecked everyone without much effort in Infinity War, in my opinion.

2) I was hoping for a heavier burden for Star-Lord to have to carry after his actions in Infinity War. I know he lost "girlfriend" Gamora for "reboot" Gamora, but she was dead either way in the last movie. Hopefully they explore that emotional baggage and/ or lack of trust his teammates have for him more in Guardians movies. The Russos suggested in interviews that he would have to deal with his actions.

In the comics Thanos has a habit of basically playing with folks the more powerful he gets.

He likes people to think they are doing well. He also seems to like proving a point by taking everything a hero has to dish out, and then quickly beating them to assert his dominance. "Is that all you have? Cute."

It wasn't quite what I expected. The entire movie was basically one giant trip down memory lane. Thought it was good, but not great.

Really glad that it seems like Thor is gonna be sticking around. Adding him to the Guardians could be great. It's impressive that in a movie with guys like Pratt, Rudd, Cooper, and Downey Jr, it's Hemsworth that is always stealing the scenes with his comedy.

I think the thanos thing is about his agenda. When he had stones all he wanted was to get the next one. He chose the amount of energy needed to get the job done. Whereas in endgame he wants to cause pain and suffering

$30 million a film, don't know how much they're going to be using of him, leaving with the Guardians or not.

An absolutely perfect end to the saga. I just can’t find a way to call it anything but perfection in the lens of the MCU.

10/10

Winter Soldier was previously my #1, and this has supplanted it. Had everything I loved about WS and did it even better.

Just seems like they wouldn't have bothered having him go with the Guardians at the end of Endgame if they weren't going to add him to the cast there going forward. Why tease it only for him to be gone when Guardians 3 starts? It seemed like that scene existed to let us know that Hemsworth was sticking around.

And I don't really blame him. He seems like he's having an absolute blast playing the character since Ragnarok.

I don't disagree with it. Just saying, I wouldn't expect Thor to stick too much past Guardians 3.

I really enjoyed it.

I wasn’t thrilled with what they did with Hulk, but that’s just nitpicking. Fat Thor was a little distracting, I kept anticipating that we would somehow snap out of that but the comedy he brought was great.

Kinda sad to see them go. I’m really curious to see what direction they go in from here.

Considering that I thought the way they wrote / handled Banner in IW was one of my only gripes of that movie, I actually thought Hulk was great in EG

I didn’t like the way they handled him in IW. I was hoping he would be able to get some sort of revenge on Thanos. We’ve never seen him handled the way he was handled in IF. I was expecting a moment with him getting the best of Thanos.

Finally saw it.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

Loved everything. Sad to see some characters go.

I really feel Nat should have had a funeral too, or maybe a wreath of her own. Her loss is keenly felt. I loved her character in every movie she was in; particularly in Winter Soldier. She was a real glue gal. A real leader in the locker room. Fights with heart. A real gym rat.

I've read an article that complains that Captain Marvel should have been able to beat Thanos on her own, but I think it ignores the obvious that even she can't take him alone.

Which is the whole point of the Avengers. People and their agendas...

RIP Tony. RIP Nat.

It is a far, far better thing that I do,
than I have ever done;
it is a far, far better rest I go to
than I have ever known.

Just saw it.

Wow. Exhausting. I think I liked Infinity War a bit better, but satisfying conclusion. Hate to see Tony go. But how Marvel pulled this off for 22 movies is remarkable.
