I like Marvel and know more than the average bear but would consider myself a casual fan. I have not seen all 22 Marvel movies leading up to this one.
I thought it fell short. I think Infinity Wars was just so damn good that this one didn’t stand a chance. This was character development and tying up loose ends. Nothing wrong w that but not nearly the action ratio that I was looking for. This is clearly a subjective review tainted by my expectations.
Thanos was a great fighter without the rings. Like too good but that was awesome. I don’t know who Captain Marvel is. Pretty much the best way to watch this would be to binge on all of the 22 movies, in order, then go see it.
I was disappoint from the get go with Thanos being decapitated. I wanted to see him use the glove and do all kinds of incredible things at some point.
I never saw Antman but I thought he was a really well played character. I thought he would be corny, and he was less corny than I thought.
Captain America was cool but to me he is still a bit corny.
Couldn’t Dr. Strange just disappear through a warp portal w the glove?
Spider Boy was cool. I thought they nailed it by not making him too powerful but still badass.
Stark is always fun. Love that ego. Also loved how emotionally broken he was once he got back to earth. And loved the first scene where bow & arrow guy’s family just dusted right in front of him. Very sad and well done.
Thor was a disappointment. Him being a big chunk was funny at times but I just wasn’t feeling it.
Hulk watching Angry Hulk just gratuitously angry was awesome. Well played.
The daughters turning on Thanos was obviously a huge deal. I guess that was OK. I wish there was more to it - for the length of the movie it seemed very rushed.
Like many others, I would have to see iron man take the gems again. In fact, how Thanos wasn’t able to close his fist I would have to see again.
So great movie but I can’t say it was my favorite Avengers movie. I think I am just more in it for the action and ringed Thanos is probably the best villain ever. I also liked it more when he was doing all of this for the good of the universe. Once he got vindictive, I thought it cheapened him a bit. I guess that’s more like the comics.
As long as the hard core Marvel fans are ecstatic about this, I’d have to say it was a masterpiece, just not what I thought it would be. The numbers don’t lie either - awesome viewership! Just not my personal favorite, and that’s OK.
