Baker Mayfield: Fire The Cannons

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Dorsey saying everything I tried too relay here in his interview with hue right now... Brings up he stated he said it in the interview in the draft what he was looking for. Talks about his red zone efficiency. Takes about how Baker was 1 or two in every analytic. Needs posted. It's on browns fb page.

I was excited to get Jonny Minzel and getting Baker was a horrendous nightmare. Maybe because the Browns live in parallel universe where losing is winning this may actually work out.

Sounds like you just suck at talent evaluation, because Mayfield is indisputably a better pro prospect than Manziel.

I really hope the Browns weren’t leaning on analytics to separate the quarterbacks in this draft because they couldn’t discern it from the film.

The interview is great. He explains it better than me. Leadership, attitude, won't stop till he's the best. Always proves others wrong. Unique..humble yet hungry. How he did on the board.. Football player. Dorsey loves him. Baker really has 9 6/8th hands too..deffinetely not 9 3/4...9 6/8

Whatever you say Bob. We all will see when he faces NFL giants.

Well, teams should us a combination of analtytics and film, ideally. I would have preferred Rosen, but Mayfield did check a lot of boxes from both an analtyic and film standpoint.

Leadership, hard work, etc, is all an entry barrier to get to the dance. As is physical ability. You aren’t in the discussion for a top pick if you don’t have those characteristics as a quarterback. In the end, the position comes down to processing speed and decision making rooted in muscle memory and other shit. That’s what makes it so hard to evaluate. No one knows if Mayfield will be good at all.

I honestly don’t know if being a leader means anything once you’re on the field and things are happening. We’re talking about the 0.0001 of what they do.

Is this a different interview than the presser he and Hue did immediately after the selections were made?

Petitioning to rename this thread Buddy Boy Baker

Honestly not sure. Probably the same one. Viewing on FB.

Also pretty cool, Baker cried getting the call. Shows he's bout this life. Truly happy to be here. Dude could really be a leader and difference maker. I think people have learned not to bet against him. So I'm not either yet.

He had his family with him on the interview with Kimmel.

Kinda speaks something to me.

Already showing how different he is from Manziel. I love the kid. Like I said he seemed like a guy I'd go to battle for and seems like every teammate he had, felt the same.
