Bowl Projections

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Ever since the BCS came out, there has been no true national champion. Only in college football division 1 are half the team not allowed to compete for the championship no matter how good of a season they had, no matter how bad of a season other teams have had.
Boise State
Hawaii
Utah (who won a nat champ in the past)

all went undefeated and got screwed because the SEC political machine bullied them out of the game. there newest political ploy is to now downplay the other BCS conferences and argue that a 1 loss SEC team is more deserving then a undefeated ACC Big East, Big Ten, or Pac 10 team if it comes down to it.
Oh and of course, the Champion ship game has to be played in SEC country . . .
I live in SEC country now, this place is a joke.

I wonder if it was possible, if the Buckeyes were capable of winning either--

Meineke Car Care Bowl

or

Chick-fil-A Bowl

We would dominate the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl

You are a perpetual whiner, how about replying to my post in the other thread.

Hawaii would have gotten crushed. Boise State, maybe not.

Should be pointed out that none of those three teams would have even gotten a chance to play in a major bowl without the BCS. Twenty years ago an undefeated Hawaii team would have been playing in the Holiday Bowl two days before Christmas.

Championships are for who had the best season, not who would win it or recruited the best. There have been plenty of national champions that werent in the big 6 conferences, but now they are disqualified from the game. Its a joke. Politics shouldnt be involved in sports, who ever gets it done on the field should be rewarded, not whoever has the best chance to win on paper.

Pretty sure those teams that have gotten it "done on the field" have reaped the benefits of doing so. The smaller schools who get to the BCS Games get rewarded with the recognition and respect of having a good season, as well as getting rewarded monetary wise, it also helps academically because more people apply for the school, thus they get a better pool to pick from for students.

Stop crying and get over it.

D1 college football is the only sport in america where half the teams are disqualified for playing for the national championship before the season starts. Its a fact. The last 2 times OSU got to the championship game ranked #1 in the country, the #2 team, or the undefeated teams, were not invited to play against them, just the SEC team with the best chance to win was given a home game against them.

They need an 8 team playoff, 8 conference champions should be invited, 4 schools in the country will have to play an extra game, and 4 more schools will have to play 2 extra games. Thats the only right way to get it done. You cant have a 1 loss or 2 loss team politic its way ahead of undefeated or higher computer ranked teams. You definately cannot trust coaches polls or press polls to decide it, because that involves politics, and the dirties politician always wins. You cant have the 12 SEC coaches voting for all SEC ranked 1 through 12, and voting in the other conference contenders in at 20-25, and dont for a second think you can tell me they dont.

Right, so you wanted osu to have easy games to win to win the championship 2 and 3 years ago...they got smoked and were CLEARLY overhyped.

Move on, find something else to bitch about.

The conference champion from the 8 major conferences (BCS + MWC and WAC)? So that means that there isn't more than 1 deserving team in the SEC or Big XII? That creates more problems than it solves. Boise State can't get away with playing 1 good team a season and expect to play in the NCG. They can't expect to play UC Davis with a WAC schedule and want to be considered one of the most deserving teams. The top 8-10 teams in the SEC are likely better than the #2 in the WAC any given year.

This is coming from an avid Big Ten supporter and SEC hater, by the way.

Eh, I think you take the top 4 conference champs from the BCS conferences, then fill out the rest with a couple non BCS champs, maybe 1 or 2 non champs, but if you cant win your conference, then how can u win the nation?
I just think its messed how it is now. Even USF, Iowa, Missouri all get screwed in the rankings, theyre undefeated, in a BCS conference and good teams, while Ol Miss gets propped up to #4, LSU gets propped up to #4 and those teams are so flawed it obvious. Then Florida and Alabama only play eachother 2 times in 8 years so they can be ranked #1 and #2 all season. Its getting out of hand.
BSU tries to get teams on thier schedule, but no one will play them, because they know its not a garaunteed win. I thought this was a grown mans game, but its turned into politics. A playoff would help eliminate the politicing, and force teams to focus on winning thier conference and having that mean something.

Personally I think the BCS system ruined college football. I am for a 16 team playoff, but what we have now is a joke. If you dont have a true national champion, then why act like some retarded system you came up with makes the champion valid.

The mystique of the rose bowl is gone, and as someone mentioned earlier, i used to enjoy watching even the lessor bowls like the blue bonnet bowl. Now, there are over 30 bowls, too many teams play in the post season, and they cant even sell tickets for these crappy bowl games. Without a playoff, you had the fun of the debate. Who is the best team? You had the conference rivalries like the pac ten vs the big ten. And you had the joy of a non power house showing up in a bowl for the first time in 40 years.

With so many bowls watering everything down, its boring. I know you cant go back, but the bcs system just wasnt a solution. If we cant have a playoff, they should have just left it alone.

Instead of thinking to tell you the SEC coaches dont do this, i'll just prove it to you

Don't just pull stuff out of your ass to try to make a point. Are you bitter that Ohio State didn't win a National Championship because they didn't play Hawaii or some other crap team instead of losing to Florida and LSU? Sorry but a one loss team that defeats a bunch of ranked teams deserves the championship more than an undefeated Hawaii that ruled the Mountain West.

I do agree a playoff is needed though, maybe the top 6 in the BCS rankings?
