Browns Defense in 2023...

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Nothing will change. Stefanski doesn’t have the balls to fire woods.

Their fanbase mirrors the Browns fanbase aside from the raw metrics. We agree that a well run front office will not be swayed by an angry fanbase. He's likely not on a hot seat, but read a few Eagles articles. Philly gotta Philly.

Listen...

I live about 35 minutes from Philly and hear quite a bit of psychotic Eagles fandom nonsense on WIP.

Brandon Gannon is not on any sort of hot seat. Not from their front office, not from their fans, not from their players. Not from anyone.

Just accept that you made an incorrect statement and move on.

They're not. And they never have been. You made a remark that even as speculative as it was simply was not based in any sort of reality.

I'm gonna let it go after this since you've shown an bit of a quick trigger with the ban hammer with me before, but you just got this one wrong.

Curious, why do you say this?

I actually prefer a retread. Someone with a track record of calling a smart defensive game with some built up credibility and authority.

I believe our offense is going to be all-world next season. We truly just need a competent, opportunistic defense. I'd rather hire a guy who has proven that he can pilot an average to above average defense versus a splashy/flashy hot young hire who could be the next big thing or could fall flat on his face.

Stefanski doesn't seem to want to get overly involved with the defense or step on his defensive coordinator's toes/authority, so an established vet who doesn't require babysitting would be ideal.

Fangio, Zimmer, Schwartz, etc. Those types interest me.
I'm in the same boat as you. When we hired Stefanski I wanted an up and coming young guy to grow with Stefanski and keep them together as long as possible until we started winning and they got hired away to be an HC somewhere else. Someone like Joe Woods. That didn't work out, but I liked the logic behind it.

Now, with the position we're in with signing Watson and having some top level talent in their prime (Myles, Ward, our offensive line as a whole basically, Chubb, etc) I think we need a re-tread who can get the best out of our roster. Someone who's had success before without it being a culture issue (this may rule out Zimmer) would be my preference.
