C.J. Miles signs with Cavs ($2M/year, 2nd year is team option)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It is sad that a kid with obvious talent can't seem to put IT together at all. I am very disappointed so far. I was really hoping the change would have a positive effect, but so far it's pretty ugly. However, just like the grading the young rooks and sophs, it's only been 3 games. He is still young and I think he is more talented than Gee and Casspi (yet another young veteran prospect) so I hope he will at least help for a few wins (sorry tankers...) and maybe even become an important 7-8th man rotation guy for cheap.

Miles quietly having himself a good game tonight. Playing smart, not forcing shots like he was in the first few games. If he can keep playing with this roleplayer mentality, he won't be half bad playing the 2 or 3 with Kyrie or Dion initiating.

Smart 30 foot shots :chuckles:

Big time buzzer beater. obviously hoping he can play like this all the time, time will tell!

Re: C.J. Miles reportedly will sign with Cavs (2 years)

seen this on the jazz realgm board

Pros:
Sure likes to shoot.
Great at shooting
Always find a shot he likes
Can shoot from anywhere on the floor

Cons:
Misses everything he shoots
Lacks the ability to MAKE the shots he takes
Never found a shot he didn't like
Can't MAKE a shot from anywhere on the floor.

CJ Miles is a lot like Kobe actually, in that CJ is also a Jazz killer.

Sorry to say this, but if the Lakers do sign CJ you are gonna hate the kid. (Also, I bumped into him at the Sandbar club in SLC and CJ was a Class A douchebag. So, he doesn't even have the "nice kid" thing going for him.)

This guy is a clown. Wish I was Chris Grant when he tells CJ that his 2nd year option is denied.

HEY CJ MILES!!

Time to see what D-League prospects are out there and give them playing time and see if we have a future bench 3.

We already have our future bench 3 from the DLeague.

Let's not.

He can't be this bad, can he?
I mean, at some point, he will improve to the mean (whatever that is for Miles). Won't he?

I've been looking at his chuck stats (FGA per 36 minutes), and he's taking 18.2 shots per 36 minutes, connecting at a whopping .218 FG%.That's a bit more than Kyrie (18.1 FGA per 36), and a whole lot more than Waiters (15.9 per 36).

Looking at some notorious chuckers, he's shooting more than Jamal (16.4 per 36) and Jordan Crawford (last year a career high 17.9 FGA per 36), and a bit less than Monta Ellis (19.0 per 36). But all these guys at least manage to shoot over .400 FG%.

He's still not Kobe yet, though, who averaged a whopping 19.3 FGA per 36 minutes throughout his career. :chuckles:

The Jazz fans who warned us about him were right. Can't believe he was this consistently bad in Utah for them to keep him around for 7 seasons though.
I didn't have huge expectations for Miles but thought he was a nice low cost low risk signing who would provide some help. He has been absolutely horrible and has been playing clueless basketball. Safe to say that 2nd year option won't be picked up.
