Call of Duty: Black Ops II

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The first black ops was actually their best game since COD4.

They went into the same direction as MW3, which was a complete failure.

BO1 was the last multiplayer I actually played for more than a handful of games. Didn't buy MW3, and haven't played it on BO2, so my Multi opinion doesn't mean much more than I hate it. Maybe if they completely revamped it, but man does the song Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi explain Multiplayer to a T. "It's all the same, only the names will change, everyday it seems we're wasting away."

I hated MW2 Multi with a passion. I hated shooting a guy in the face with a shotgun 3 times, and being killed by his knife... At least they fixed that in BO1.

Every time I try to play zombies, it takes like 20 minutes to match make. Then i finally get into the game, and do these zombies have like 1000 health each? At some point my whole team will disappear and I will have no idea where to go. Then I will invariably die, quit, and be like what the fuck is this shit. I guess I need a human to play with or something.

You just need to play more. It's like Multiplayer if you play it you'll get better at it. If you don't like it then don't play it i'd say haha.

If you want a few tips well I can help with that.

-The best strategy in zombies is running a train. You run a train and you conserve ammo, and once you have that train down you'll be nearly invincible until you make a mistake.

-Don't be stupid, and learn from your mistakes. For example if you know from the past that trying to pack a punch a gun (TranZit) on round 20 is too hard for you, and it will result in your death, then don't do it. Wait until the end of the round and hold a zombie. It's easier to do something with one or two zombies, than it is with 40.

-Aim for the head. May sound simple, but a headshot with the headshot overkill perk (two headshots, one bullet) does by far more damage than does a shot to the leg. Up until the mid 30's an unpack a punched MP5 will effectively kill a zombie if you hit him in the head.

-Instead of just holding down the trigger until your clip is empty, tap the fire button. Shoot 3-5 bullets, and release, shoot 3-5 bullets, and release. This way it decreases the recoil your gun has, and it will therefore make your shots more accurate. This is why single fire, or burst fire guns are great in zombies, but unfortunately they all suck.

-This part may sound selfish, but it's true. Don't stay with teammates. Once you have a good training spot down the only thing that is going to kill you is human error. It happens to all of us. Now if you are with your teammates that's 4x the humans to commit errors, and 9/10 times if one of you commit an error everyone is going down.

-When you're the last one alive don't be stupid (as in running through the fog). Just take your time kill the zombies slowly so they don't spawn too quick, and you'll be fine.

The zombie mode has a few subtle things that you can control. First off you can control how many zombies spawn at a time. If you have the max number of zombies on the map (24 solo + 6 for every player) if you kill 20 with the Ray Gun in 5 seconds, then 20 are going to spawn, but if you kill 5 with the DSR then 5 will spawn. The less zombies spawning is a good thing because you can control the direction in which they come at you.

Another thing you can control is the time. It doesn't matter if round 20 takes 15 minutes or 30. If you need to PAP, get perks, hit the box, etc then hold a zombie.

The final tip I have for everyone, even seasoned players is BUY DOUBLE TAP! DTII is a must have perk. It shoots 2 bullets for every bullet fired. You'd be surprised how many high ranking players i've played with that don't know that. They think DTII is the same thing as in BO1 where it just made your gun shoot faster. That is no longer the case. It doesn't waste ammo, it in fact doubles your ammo.

If you don't believe me on this one, go into a solo game of TranZit hit the bank/power, buy the box until you get the DSR or Barrett, buy DTII, and stand a few feet back of a wall and shoot the wall. You will see two bullet holes relatively far apart. It works with every gun that shoots a bullet (so no Ray Gun, or Mustang and Sally, etc), but it's easier to see with the snipers than it is with a machine gun because of the bullet spread.

Edit: Oh yeah, and NO power up is worth your life. Never risk a down for a max ammo, insta kill, bomb, etc. It's just not worth it.

I would also suggest running a train around a wall gun. In TranZit that means no Town, and I wouldn't suggest Bus Depot because it's hard to get out of the bus depot.

In Die Rise your options are pretty limited in terms of wall weapons. If you run by where the box spawns you will get literally 10 zombies a round in the early teens, but you'll always have that M16, and you should be the last one alive, with an incredibly easy path down to the buddah room, which is the best spot to run when you're the last one alive. Nobody likes to run that spot because you get no zombies, but if you just care about making it far, and not your kills then it is fantastic.

You can run a kind of weird train down by the slide to the box. People call it the Sushi Bar. You run that room until you're out of ammo, and when you run out spawn all the zombies in, and make your way up the escalator, buy the SVU, and then make your way to the PDW, and buy the PDW, and then make your way up that escalator back to the spawn where you can run a train until you are out of ammo again, and then just do the opposite. That's kind of long winded, but basically Sushi Bar-SVU ammo-PDW ammo-Spawn room-PDW ammo-SVU ammo-Sushi Bar, rinse and repeat. So long as you spawn in all the zombies you won't have a problem.

The next one, my personal favourite, they call the hallway challenge. There's nothing challenging about it though imo. It's simple open up the two double doors, and leave the one from the roof closed. It makes it pretty inconvinient, but it's very worth it, and i'll explain why later. Anyways you run face first into the MP5 ammo, so if you're at the elevators look at the MP5, walk to it, turn right, and follow that around until you can't anymore. Leave the door into the "deadmans corner" closed *if* you can. If PAP, Jugg, or DTII is there, it's not going to be left closed, and that's understandable.

Ok back to why you leave the rooftop door closed. If there is someone on the RT, and they go down all of their zombies will run down to you, and kill you because you get bottlenecked in that hallway. With the door closed the zombies go to deadmans corner, which is MUCH easier to avoid. If Deadmans corner door is closed (the one to the outside, not the one to the inside) then they jump from the rooftop to the Trample Steam room, and find the nearest sucker.

Those are the ones with wall guns on Die Rise, and TranZit. Good luck my freinds, hopefully I helped even slightly. The biggest thing in zombies is not to panic if you're the last man standing, and just take your time.

Double Edit: Ok final thing. On the hallway challenge by the MP5. If when you round the corner going towards the double elevators there are too many zombies to run past, don't panic. Just quickly turn around, open that single door that leads back out to where you just came from (don't run through this room, just walk) and then turn left, and go through your train again. All the zombies that were following you will have followed you through that little room, as will the zombies that you couldn't get by. It's pretty easy to complete this, even 40+.

If you read all that thanks, if not well I don't blame you.

I'm not good at making trains.. in die rise I just get a tramp and sit up on the catwalk in the Buddha room. From there I can get ammo for my AN as well as my AK74u by using my tramp.

Making trains is simple. You just need to understand that zombies will always run at you in the same two ways.

1) A zombie will always pick the shortest path,
2) A zombie always runs in a straight line.

If for example you are running in the Buddah room you go up the broken pole, fall off, run along the bottom of that slope (above you where they jump off) run right to the wall, and run the far way around the pole that goes to the spot you like to camp at. This is where you shoot the zombies. They're in a big hoard, and picking their heads off is easy. Just rinse and repeat that circle, and you've got a winner. There is only one sticky spot in that train, and that's where they jump down because of that little hallway they come through. I always sprint past that part, and walk the rest.

You will always walk faster than a zombie can run. That's kind of an important thing to know.

So after this new update there is no hardcore ctf. Pretty annoyed...

The fuck? Did it update today I'm guessing? Because I was just playing hardcore ctf last night at like 3am.

They did an update for Xbox prepping for next Tuesday's DLC drop. PS3 should get the update soon too. They always do Xbox updates first, and PS3 second.

Edit: One other thing the update did, just like in the first DLC update was add the zombie leaderboards for the new map. This one, Mob of the Dead, comes equipped with Grief as well. Nice change of pace to have a new Grief map. The Town, and Farm ones got rather stale.

For those of you that play zombies on Xbox try new things, as I assume just like in the previous update there will be a new perma perk or two. Hopefully something like Stamin Up, or Speed Cola. Doubt it though. It will likely be something map specific like the lessened fall damage of Die Rise.

Some Patch Notes (XBOX - not sure about other consoles)

- Removed the Chaos Moshpit playlist in favor for the Nuketown 24/7 playlist (likely a permanent change; not just for Double-XP)
- Removed Hardcore CTF for Hardcore Domination
- Added calling cards for each prestige
- Extended the Hardpoint zone under Hijacked

I don't see a nuketown 24/7 playlist, but it does show up in regular modes now like deathmatch.

Also supposedly no more DLC guns will be coming as the game has ram limits which have been reached(supposedly). I'm guessing the next version will have all manner of DLC guns, however.

If you watched the video, they mentioned a new perk that when you reload it sends out an electric shock around you. Something like that.

Yea I played until a little after 3. Got on around 10 this morning. I was pissed because hardcore ctf is all I play. You gotta let off half a fucking clip it seems to kill someone on core.

Yeah that's a perk that you buy. Sounds interesting, but ultimately useless. It will be a new toy to play with, but I suspect it's use will be a few time thing. I mean if it stops the zombies from hitting you when reloading, and that's it well even walking you're faster than a full sprint zombie on round 999. The zombies never get faster than you. What a waste of a perk slot if that's all it does. Of course i'm assuming you only get the 4 perk slots, but I hope that's not the case.

Anyways I meant if you're playing Die Rise, or TranZit after the update you should see if there is any new perma perks like the quick revive one. Last patch they added in perma jugg, and cashback.

I don't do zombies. Played like one round of Tranzit once.
