I know many of us wanted Reddish here at one time but He has really been a bust in New York. For those thinking we over payed for Levert . The Knicks gave up a first rounder for Reddish who isn’t even in the rotation:

“It goes beyond wanting more minutes,’’ he said. “Cam thinks he should be the No. 1 option on any team. It’s good to be confident, but there was feelings he wanted things handed to him.’’

He’s not in the rotation cause his coach is a clown. The guy did Kemba Walker dirty earlier in the season and because he didn’t want Reddish he’s not gonna play him…

Jerk move by a jerk coach.

Does he really view himself that way? A number 1 option?

Yeah I think he does. Personally I believe he has talent, especially to score. But I’m not liking his mindset… This isn’t McGrady to the Magic or Harden to the Rockets (which I initially thought could be similar scenarios)

This would be more like Ricky Davis to the Cavs…. Someone that could be a bench player and then get traded to a bad team and become a volume shooter/scorer and increase that PPG from single digits to somewhere in the 20’s…. But literally that’s all they offer and don’t win…

His mentality is terrible…

I'm sure he thought the Knicks traded for him to be a focal point on their team. Maybe not #1 option especially since he played with Barrett in college but probably a top 3 player on the team.

Thibs has his guys he likes and has always liked smaller rotations with guys getting heavy minutes. I know one article pointed out that it's going to be hard for Leon Rose to just trade away one guy to open up playing time for Reddish. I think they are going to have a hard time forcing Thibs hand to play him by shuffling their roster.

It's incredible his entitlement, but also that the Kicks traded for this guy and the coach is fighting the front office this way. Being traded from a better team to a worse team and getting less playing time is a scathing indictment.

I know the Cavs had interest in him at one time, but I can't help but feel they knew this was his attitude and avoided him. There have been rumors like this for awhile. I had heard he thought he should be #1 overall in 2019 and I thought, "No way he actually believes that?" but maybe so. He said he thinks he is still on track to be a "legit star" after the trade.

I'd aim at replacement player first, but wow.

I haven't personally see any quotes from articles with Reddish and what he expected with the Knicks but I was more speculating especially with the Knicks rosters he was going into. I think most expected him to be integrated into the Knicks rotation immediately.

I do think he thought he was going to get more opportunities when he went to the Knicks. Reddish was projected as the #1 prospect in his class going into college at one point, Zion and Barrett were later pushed above him. I actually think Barrett was ranked below him when they got to Duke. Reddish was the first to be recruited to Duke and they didn't expect to get all 3 of Zion, Barrett, and Reddish.

Just FYI

It's not a terrible quote exactly, but he seems delusional. His first 3 years should have been humbling for him. Anything but I suppose

I think Reddish's development path hasn't been right for his skill set. I think he needs to be on a team that will ask him to be the guy even if he isn't on that level. He missed that opportunity in college and he was asked to be a role player in Atlanta. He probably needs to get to a real bad team which will let him work through what he is actually good at. He might actually end up a role player but I think he needs to be asked to do more for a long period of time so he can actually see for himself if he can do it.

Yeah going to another team trying to compete was probably the worst spot. You are right he needs to go to a place where he doesn't have to outplay the guy in front of him

It's so strange that the Knicks traded for Reddish and that he isn't playing. It suggests that there's either a disconnect between the front office & head coach or they traded for Reddish to use him as a trade chip. We know the Knicks have had interest in Sexton and the Cavs have had interest in Reddish, so how how about this trade:

to CLE: Reddish, 2022 2nd (via CHA), & 2023 2nd (via DET)
to NYK: Sexton & 2022 2nd (via MIA)

It seems like the Cavs have no use for Sexton, after acquiring LeVert, who is scheduled to make $18.7M next year.

Am I crazy to want a first here? A guy like Sexton who can reliably get you 20 pts for a scratch off on a poorly motivated me first guy? Yikes.

Trades like this make me want to keep Sexton. I really think he was breaking out end of last year and he seems to have no value. He was practicing those off the dribble behind the screen 3's begin of the year which is what tanked his 3p%, but if he can do that he is unguardable.

It's just hard for me to believe you can't get any actual production for Sexton.

With the cap going up and the luxury tax line also raising up, there isn't a reason to dump Sexton. We could easily be below the luxury tax line and still pay Sexton $20 million per season. Reddish would be a major downgrade.

Not crazy, but getting a team to pony up a 1st for a player who won't play the remainder of this season and is due to be a free agent would take some smooth talking. If a team likes Collin enough, you never know...

From a practical standpoint, how are you gonna find minutes for Sexton, Okoro, & LeVert at SG? Plus, you then have over $40M/year tied up in one position. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
