Cam Reddish

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
From a practical standpoint, how are you gonna find minutes for Sexton, Okoro, & LeVert at SG? Plus, you then have over $40M/year tied up in one position. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Levert would play some 3 and Collin and Levert would have minutes together with no "true" pg.

It's so strange that the Knicks traded for Reddish and that he isn't playing. It suggests that there's either a disconnect between the front office & head coach or they traded for Reddish to use him as a trade chip. We know the Knicks have had interest in Sexton and the Cavs have had interest in Reddish, so how how about this trade:

to CLE: Reddish, 2022 2nd (via CHA), & 2023 2nd (via DET)
to NYK: Sexton & 2022 2nd (via MIA)

It seems like the Cavs have no use for Sexton, after acquiring LeVert, who is scheduled to make $18.7M next year.
I don’t think they traded for him only to lower his value and then trade him again.

His coach is a miserable human.

People feel that Okoro isn't really long enough to play the SF spot and LeVert has a standing reach that is only 1/2" beyond Okoro's, so I can't see LeVert spending much time at SF.

I'd push Sexton into the backup 1/2 role. He's had moments of being an effective ball handler and I think LeVert has the ability to play backup 3 minutes as well as starting 2 minutes. Our guard/small forward rotation would be Garland, LeVert, Lauri, Sexton, Okoro. Cedi would end up being the odd man out. F/C between Mobley, Allen, Love and Wade (with Lauri also getting some minutes there). Eventually we'd likely have to move two of those players for one and have an amazing 8 player lineup for the 2023 playoffs. I still believe Sexton can be a playmaker and when he plays with LeVert they can split those duties. It's still going to be a little bit of a logjam so until a trade is made, I'm guessing game by game decisions will have to be made depending on the defense vs offense requirements. What are we seeing Okoro's value at per season? 15-18 mil?

Honestly I think there's a difference between starting and backup 3s, size wise. I wouldn't want to have someone smaller play the starting 3 role but I think a shooting guard sized 3 off the bench is okay. Similarly how guys like Lou Williams play point guard off the bench but are mostly there to score.

I also think the player that the Knick might actually want if we did a Reddish trade would be Okoro. He is the type of player Thibs would love and would play immediately.

I'm not on board for a Reddish trade now with LeVert. I think there isn't opportunities for Reddish to figure out his game with LeVert on the team. Reddish could end up being alot like LeVert if he got on the right development path.

I also think this was the plan when they had KPJ and they drafted Okoro.
Just like Garland was a fallback option, once DeAndre Hunter was gone in the 1999 draft, I fully believe the plan was to draft Patrick Williams in 2000. Okoro was the fall back option after Chicago took Williams one pick before us.

More like Cam Pattato

I was more referring to the plan to play guys. I think they had a plan in place to distribute the minutes between Sexton, KPJ, and Okoro which they will just transfer over to using for Sexton, LeVert, and Okoro. Skill set wise KPJ and LeVert are very similar.

Who has the better passing /ball handling skills between KPJ and Levert?

Backup 3 would be fine.

How much is the defense effected bringing Okoro off the bench? I would want him on the likes of Bradley Beal and Levine from tip off instead of coming off the bench.

My point is the Cavs pivoted from a SF to a PG in 1999 and then from a SF/PF to a SG/SF in 2000. It kinda threw their plans into flux, as all of the sudden they had a small backcourt, a glut of SG's, and still no real SF.

That's funny because i think KPJ is the better ball handler, but practically, Levert is safer with the ball and has a better ast/to ratio
