Carlos Carrasco to start vs Tigers on Tuesday

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He'll probly suck...all prospects do.

He still sucks as of 9/8/09

His movement was much better. A better showing than his first start but certainly nothing to write home about. Kid's only, 21, 22?

Yeah he was certainly better, not saying much...hoping he gets at least 1 quality start before end of season.

He seems rushed, which is a big concern. He gets too emotional on the mound, something that plagued him in the minors. He certainly has the skills

Might as well just get rid of him, it's a joke he didn't pitch like a cy young in his first two games.

Hell, I would have settled for a Scott Elarton performance...

Agreed, I mean we only gave up a Cy Young for him.

Actually we got him for one more year of Cy Young.

We got him for roughly 5-6 years.
We got Knapp/Marson/Donald for longer.

Which do you think benefits this team more?

Unless you think they had a shot at the ring next season...ha

It'll be a wash if Knapp and Carrasco don't turn out to be good players.

You guys only focus on the negative:

- he has gone longer in each subsequent outing (3,5,6 innings)
- he has reduced his HRs allowed each time (3,2,1)
- lowered his ER allowed each time (6,5,4)

:D
OK, so maybe these aren't big improvements, but I guess they are something. He was only at 80 pitches when they pulled him, too, so he could have come out and tried one more inning. I think he did a better job of composing himself on Sunday; not a great job, just better. His minor league HR totals lead me to believe he will have issues with the gopher ball. He can deal with this if he keeps the free passes down. As Damage noted, he has had composure issues in the minors, so let's see if he can settle in in his last two starts.

He's the real deal.
