If TT has the gall to demand 90 mil, what's to stop him from asking for 100? I realize the circumstances but there has to be a line drawn somewhere (and it's more out of principle than it is money, if I'm Gilbert.)

Well, I think 5yr/90mil is his max, so that might stop him from asking for $100 million.

It's not my money. However, Thompson is on a fine line here of losing his bread-and-butter. He's a hustler and a fan-favorite. If he keeps demanding more money above what he is worth, that turns some of us off. Before he knows it, he's no longer a fan favorite--rather, he is scrutinized and hated for being overpaid and not living up to his contract. Ben Wallace was a fine player in this league--until Chicago overpaid for him. The fans there practically ran him out of town.

At some point, you say "Listen, Tristan. Take your $80 million and shut the fuck up."

Monta Ellis gets 11 million a year and TT 18 million? I don't get it.
Well he reported turned 12 million a year down from the Kings but you are absolutely right

Yeah TT is gonna have huge expectations with this contract. If he starts the season missing a bunch of bunnies like he did last year things will turn against him quickly.

I kind of don't want this guy on our team anymore. And that's coming from someone who lives in Toronto. How the hell is a guy who can pretty much rebound and not do anything else ask for that much money? The only reason we're probably going to pay him whatever is that we're way over the cap and unless we S & T him, he's just going to walk and we're going to be stuck. But I just don't think he's worth more than 11 million a year, even with what he brings to the table and it not being my money. No one else is going to pay him 15 million. And if they do, they're crazy because I'd rather have shot makers than offensive rebounders.

I feel like Woj has gone basically AWOL today...amazing what not having sources with small/mid level markets will do to you.

What's up with TT? why is he doing that?
I don't get it at all, if yoou don't accept 80mill which is too fkn much anyways then go to a different team and let's see your real value.

More or less, Giannis will come off the bench. MCW/Middleton/Parker/Henson/Monroe plus you have dudley, bayless and mayo and now Giannis off the bench. I think pachulia is still in their roster so that's a pretty balance team.

That's a really good young group of players. I don't think there's any way that Giannis comes off the bench, though.

I would be wary of a Parker/Monroe front court. Parker hasn't had time to develop yet, but he was a terrible defender in college and was terrible as a rookie. His rookie numbers wouldn't be as alarming if Jabari weren't so poor as a defender in college. He will need a good rim defender next to him and Monroe is not that. Monroe was 36th out of 40 players who had to face at least 7 shots per game at the rim in DFG% at 55%. Andy, KLove, Big Al Jeff were all better. That's not good.

Players Jabari guarded shot 51.6% against him compared to 44.6% against everyone else. From less than 10 feet, players he guarded shot 68.2%!! and 53.9% against everyone else. Parker's RPM was -2.70, 434th out of 474 players. His defensive RPM was -2.64, 440th out of 474 players.

He was bottom 20% in post up defense, bottom 32% on pick and roll defense, though top 36% in ISO.

Bucks ORtg with Jabari on court: 101.2
Bucks ORtg with Jabari off court: 103.3 (Bucks 2.1 points per 100 possessions better with Jabari off court)

Bucks DRtg with Jabari on court: 107.8
Bucks DRtg with Jabari off court: 100.9 (Bucks 6.9 points per 100 possessions better with Jabari of court)

In total, the Bucks are 9 points per 100 possessions BETTER with Jabari off court. Now, I'm going to assume he gets better defensively and continues to improve offensively, but it will be interesting to see how he fits in with the defensive-minded other starters. With him off the court, the Bucks are a defensive juggernaut. With him on court, they were not.

I honestly think this is TT trying to get paid more money. I highly doubt someone signs him to a $90 million contract but, in all honesty, I don't blame him for trying. After Aldridge signs somewhere TT may get paid. I wholeheartedly believe he'll be back next year.

Also, do we have confirmation this is actually true? All I've seen is Haynes reporting it and he has been wrong plenty of times in the past.

EDIT: Now I see others are also reporting it. Good deal...

Can he just walk? Please explain. I though we can match any offer he gets.

I wonder if the Spurs will go after TT if they miss out on Aldridge. They could actually use him.

TT will most likely be starting after this upcoming season and bye-bye Moz. I'm sure he'll get 15+ after playing a whole year with LeBron and averaging a double double.
