At least the Kings could try. I mean, the Suns were supposedly a front runner and I don't think they are contenders. Better than the Kings but just sayin.

Also, he took two meetings with the Lakers. Lakers are in a worse spot than the Kings. Farther in a rebuild and their "superstar" is a 40 year old ball hog.

(Kings mortgaging the future was really dumb though, but Lakers dont have any picks themselves for like 3 years) .

He took meetings with the Lakers but he isn't going to play for them. Meanwhile, the Lakers were wasting time on a guy they were never going to get while missing chances to go after guys that could really help fill team needs.

At least the Kings knew their place and didn't waste time with a totally unrealistic option.

We'll learn a lot about JR then if he's about the more money or about the wins with less money.
I'm a little irked that we've heard NOTHING about JR and the Cavs since his stipulations were released. I mean, have they even tried to come to an agreement? You'd think 3 year/7 would get it done, unless JR is adamant or the Cavs are just ambivalent about retaining him. Personally, I think we need to get him done...one less piece to worry about and we know what he can give us when producing.

I wonder if Gerald Green and Rodney Stuckey could also be in play. The Cavs have also reached out to Patrick Beverley.

I wonder what type of contract Stuckey will get? Not seeing much in terms of solid links with other teams. The Wizards have been linked to him, but they already have a similar player in Ramon Sessions on their bench.

I had sort of overlooked Stuckey, because he has always been such a bad shooter, but I see he actually shot 39% from 3 last year (30% for career). He is a playmaking combo guard, and Griffin stressed that they wanted another playmaker. I think he'd be interesting. My fault for overlooking him.

Gerald Green -- I mean, only if JR isn't coming back, and even then, I just think there are other guys I'd rather have.

We heard nothing prior to Shumpert's deal.

Looking like an offseason from hell for Portland

Crazy to see our side of it where we resign all our players and Portland losses possibly 4 starters in one offseason
Portland is a real sad song...before the Wes Matthews injury they were looking like one of the scariest teams in the west. Aldridge was playing motivated through a thumb injury and they made all the right moves at the trade deadline to add depth and bolster their roster. I looked at them as real threats to come out of the west. After Matthews went down and they underperformed in the first round it's been an inexorable domino effect. Shame.

They're about to go after JR Smith. I feel it coming.
I was joking about the Kings offering JR a max while in the chat last night...

And now I feel like an asshole.

I would prefer JR to Stuckey. JR inspite of all his flaws has always been a good shooter. Last season aside, Stuckey has been a poor shooter.

Knowing SAC they will offer him 15 mil and a bunch of women.

I don't think Kings would go after JR. JR and Karl didn't get along and the last thing Kings need is another player who doesn't get along with Karl.
