If we really wanted David West, we can offer more money than the Spurs.
I think we are going for the Moon
Stuckey and West.. Not Sure it can be done, but why not go All in!

Cavs are the best team in the league when healthy...re-sign JR...add a back-up PG and I think we are fine.. getting West would really help...it may create a logjam at PF but it would keep our guys healthy and is another great PNR or PNP guy

Do we really want to use our MMLE on a PF? Must mean that we already know what we can get with Haywood's contract.

We could really use another big that can shoot the ball. West is deadly between 16 fy and the 3pt line. We need to add playmakers at any position. We saw how important it was for GS to have multiple bigs that could score in different ways. West at the MMLE is a no brainer to me. Also gives us some leverage in TT negotiations / another big should they fit some reason decide to part ways

I'm pretty sure that West doesn't care for the difference if he already turned down 12.5 mil.

Perhaps. It seems Goal 1 for him is to play on a contender.

But if he can accomplish Goal 1 and make a few extra million, I think it would make a difference.

I wonder if going after West is a precursor to potentially trading AV. I know he's LeBrons boy but if you can replace him and get some value you have to do it. And I love AV

We really can't afford to allocate more roster spots to bigs. Something has to give there cause we need wings and a backup PG.

IF we sign West, I think I'll be after we've traded Haywood.

Bringing in West makes that Diaw/Mills more possible.
No way Pop would be willing to help the Cavs at this point, especially after signing L.A, what are you talking about?

If all the Spurs is offering West is the vet. minimum then we offer the same and hope he wants to play closer to where he has always played and also play with Lebron. Then use the MMLE hopefully on Stuckey. Use the Haywood contract to bring in another Small Forward. Re-sign JR and be done after that. Roster would be stacked.

Good chance some of our 2nd rounders would be traded if we bring him in. Also, I wouldn't count on Andy. Limit his minutes throughout the season and play him sparingly to try and keep him healthy for the playoffs. A big man rotation in the playoffs of Love, Mozgov, Thompson, West, and Andy sounds good to me.

West with MMLE, Stuckey for the minimum (he played for the minimum last season), SF for the Haywood contract. GET IT DONE GRIFFIN.

I'm pretty negative on the idea of relying on Andy for consistent contributions next year. It's kinda crazy to think abot sitting a guy that we're paying that much money for, but Gilbert seems up for it.

hahah, losing Splitter hurt, but was easily fixed when getting Aldridge.

I am not upset, I think its fun. But unless they have a serious injury, they are going to be the team to beat.

And they didn't get out of the first round, in the West, in a ridiculously competitive conference, where everyone is separated by a game record wise.

It wasn't about them not getting out of the first round, as much, as them catching a bad break, and having to play the second best team in that conference (despite their collapse, the Clippers were very talented). And they got beat by a questionable call, arguably.

People ignore the fact the Spurs were NOT healthy last year, and they were still a game away from the second seed. That's what is frightening. When they finally got healthy, they showed how dominant they still are.

Their team so old, will they ever be healthy again? Do they have a real center? Is their depth going to get worse? Can they be good enough to avoid 7 game series' with all the great teams in the west? Dont think they are a real threat to us, doubt we ever play them.

My pitch would be this:

You want to taste the championship? We have a free pass to The Finals. Join the Spurs and you have to go through the West's gauntlet.

i don't want west

lbj spot minutes
love
tt
mozgod
av

where are his minutes? he wants to play for a contender, not sit on the bench. plus our pf rotation is fine.
