LeBron recruiting Butler to the Cavs? I kid.

As a minimum guy he actually wouldn't be terrible. He can shoot the 3 at a decent clip.
Yeah his 3 point percentages the last few years look good. He'd probably be an upgrade over Miller but I'm only guessing, haven't really watched him play lately.

Isn't Butler under contract for the Bucks next season? According to Hoopshype.com he is scheduled to make $4.5M for them next year.

Regardless, Butler hasn't been a factor in a few years. He's 35 years old as well.

Personally wouldn't be against adding Butler, but only for the veteran minimum. He could replace Marion's roster spot.

His contract isn't guaranteed, and he's expected to be waived so they can pursue a big time free agent.

I agree though that a minimum deal is the only thing that makes sense. We may not have a spot for him though depending on how our summer shakes out, but I think he could give us some minutes as a backup to LeBron and I think Blatt would actually play him since he can shoot some.

This is dependent on what James Jones decides to do. Or more what LeBron tells him to do. :chuckle:

I'm not really ok with Butler, Miller, and Jones on the same roster.

I'd prefer Butler over Jones though.

I knew the Cavs were high on Delon Wright, I was high on him too, he looks like a really good kid, he knows how to play the PnR better than anyone in the draft..
A mature kid that knows his role and is humble unlike other pgs that think really high of themselves like Reggie Jackson..
Too bad he went to the raptors, atleast not Chicago or the Lakers.

I'm happy with all 3 second round picks, does anyone know if Keifer Sykes is playing the summer league? couldn't he be the creator off the bench? I mean the kid can dunk on players twice his size? why can't he be our Isaiah Thomas?
he is a superior athlete by far, Also looks like a really nice kid.
Ryan Boatright was on my mind aswell but I'm not sure he is better than Sykes.

What about Michael Frazier? why wasn't he drafted? was he bad in workouts? can we have him in the summer league? I seriously think he could replace JR..

He shot 46% from 3 in his first two seasons, 65% TS and 64 EFG.. this could absolutely translate to the Cavs, sometell tell Griffin to recruite him.

Jamison, Haywood, now Butler.

Perhaps we can sign Arenas this offseason and get Roger Mason as a bench wing.

After looking into a few different situations, the Cavs might be able to orchestrate a deal between the Spurs and Clippers, if DeAndre Jordan decides to leave.

Clippers:
Tiago Splitter

Spurs:
Brendan Haywood
(rights to) Cedi Osmun
(rights to) Sasha Kaun

Cavs:
Jamal Crawford
Patty Mills

Cavs receive two shooters, one of them being someone to play backup PG. Clippers get a new option at center. Might not completely accurate salary wise but something similar could be executed.

This is not a good trade for the Cavs, why would you want a 37 years old Chucker in Crawford?
Mills is good but he isn't worth to spend it alone on him..

Ever heard of JR Smith?

JJ Redick can be easily swapped out for Crawford salary wise if the Clippers are willing.

We aren't going to get a super star for Haywood.

Can we trade for Omri Caspi? He is an Israeli and played for Blatt. So that's an advantage. He can shoot threes, and he has one of the best true shooting percentages in the league.

You have to understand, Caspi was so bad here in his first go around with the Cavs, that the collective opinion of him is very low. He did seem to have a bounce back season this year, but I don't think he's what the Cavs are looking for, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

Well, he has better DRPM than Rudy Gay, who was a popular idea around here. But yeah, obviously he is not as good as some other players we might acquire if we have the money (and that's a big if). Blatt will make him better, that's almost for sure. Just look at Mozgov.
