LeBron recruiting Butler to the Cavs? I kid.
Yeah his 3 point percentages the last few years look good. He'd probably be an upgrade over Miller but I'm only guessing, haven't really watched him play lately. As a minimum guy he actually wouldn't be terrible. He can shoot the 3 at a decent clip.
Isn't Butler under contract for the Bucks next season? According to Hoopshype.com he is scheduled to make $4.5M for them next year.
Regardless, Butler hasn't been a factor in a few years. He's 35 years old as well.
Personally wouldn't be against adding Butler, but only for the veteran minimum. He could replace Marion's roster spot.
After looking into a few different situations, the Cavs might be able to orchestrate a deal between the Spurs and Clippers, if DeAndre Jordan decides to leave.
Clippers:
Tiago Splitter
Spurs:
Brendan Haywood
(rights to) Cedi Osmun
(rights to) Sasha Kaun
Cavs:
Jamal Crawford
Patty Mills
Cavs receive two shooters, one of them being someone to play backup PG. Clippers get a new option at center. Might not completely accurate salary wise but something similar could be executed.
Ever heard of JR Smith? This is not a good trade for the Cavs, why would you want a 37 years old Chucker in Crawford?
Mills is good but he isn't worth to spend it alone on him..
You have to understand, Caspi was so bad here in his first go around with the Cavs, that the collective opinion of him is very low. He did seem to have a bounce back season this year, but I don't think he's what the Cavs are looking for, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Can we trade for Omri Caspi? He is an Israeli and played for Blatt. So that's an advantage. He can shoot threes, and he has one of the best true shooting percentages in the league.
