Ok here's a thought.

Gerald Green?

I believe he's unrestricted and he made about 3.5 mil last year. Could we obtain him with the MLE? He would improve depth at SF and he can score like crazy.

He also should be roughly in the prime of his career, 29 years old.

We could do worse...

I guess in a way I'm shocked that JR Smith gave the Cavs an easy out with him but then it is JR so maybe it should have been obvious.

Either way his role- spotup 3 or shooting SG- sounds like the perfect spot for a veteran ring chaser with the MLE or someone else with Haywood contract.

Seems like he would fall into Griffin's category of facilitating playmaker or playmaking facilitator or whatever he said. Plus Griffin would know him from this Phoenix days or at least has connections still I would imagine with the Phoenix front office.

Defense would be the question...is he a good facilitator?

I don't know much tbh except he's a really great leaper and dunker. He would probably be similar to JR with regard to passing but much better at finishing or creating his own shot or getting to the foul line. Defense is probably iffy but he would be a tool in the toolbox for Blatt if say we needed scoring, LeBron is on the bench, or if JR is ice cold (assuming we keep JR).

There's nothing to stop. He's telling the truth. J.R. is the consistently better rebounder, ball-handler/playmaker, defender, shot blocker, scorer, and is younger... how anyone would prefer Redick over J.R. is beyond me.

And the only reason Redick is starting for LA is because Jamal Crawford is just as terrible.

Yeah, I watch a ton of Clippers game and Reddick is as one dimensional as it gets.

Too bad, most of what you said is blatantly false.

Redick averaged more points, shot a better percentage from the field, from three, and had a higher per than JR.

Better rebounder? :chuckle: Yeah, JR's 3.2 rebounds per game is such an astounishing argument to make in his favor, not to mention his 0.4 blocks per game.

Where would we be without that production!

And what do you think JR is? :chuckle:

JR is a shooter, he doesn't do much else. He's not dynamic enough as a playmaker to really even be given that label.

Redick gets a bad label, because he starts, and is LA's third option offensively.

I wouldn't want him as that necessarily either. I wouldn't want JR as that either. But here he's our 4th option, and looks better as that.

The guy is one of the most deadly shooters in the league, he's better than JR. He's more efficient from the field, three, and a much better free throw shooter.

He's an underrated defender too.

Anyone that thinks JR is seriously better, and I like JR, is just being a blatant homer.

You must not watch many because he is a very good defender. He was checking Harden in the playoffs most of the time and shutting him down.

You're taking one season and declaring Redick the better producer. Almost all of what I said is true when you compare their careers, hence my use of the word consistently.

If I used your reasoning, I would've traded Kevin Love for Paul Millsap by now.

Redick was a far better player this past year than prior years or than what I ever expected. For most of the season he was "Korver-like" on 3's. And defensively he was far from an embarrassment.

No way the Clippers let him go. I'd trade for him in a heartbeat.
