Interesting... I know this is huge long shot but lets say we were to go after him in a trade. Is it possible to get him with the Haywood contract? Again I know this won't happen but i'm curious

I've said this elsewhere, I thought for the past 10 months Eric Bledsoe was the original purpose of the Haywood trade chip. I had worries that the Cavaliers can't offer a competitive package, but players under contract forcing a trade seem to have more and more say in destination. I'm hopeful, not optimistic.

Interesting I hope this is the reason and does happen. The fact you mentioned us not having the package but Bledsoe could push to come here makes me a bit hopeful what a piece he would be.

Suns man. They turn Dragic, Bledsoe and Thomas into Brandon Knight. I don't get it. They were an up and coming, winning team and they just decided to get cheap.

When can we start to trade haywood? The 1st right? Isn't that when free agency starts

That team was not going to win with 3 point guards as their main scorers.

Now, if they moved Dragic and Thomas for vets at different positions they may be better right now. BUT, I think those Miami picks will become nice assets for the Suns down the road.

But they're the ones who decided to go that route when they signed Thomas. They could have, instead, said screw that and saved money to pay Dragic. But they don't want to pay Dragic. And they apparently don't want to pay Bledsoe (who I think is better off the ball) and Knight.

Sarver has always been cheap. He broke up that first team by letting Joe Johnson leave.

I have family in Phoenix though, and it sounds like that team had a lot of bad locker room/immaturity problems there last year. Bledsoe might be one of the problem children, and with Knight and Bledsoe both being scoring guards it makes sense to get rid of one in favor of a more traditional point guard to back him up plus whatever pieces they can get for Bledsoe.

See that's the thing. I'm thinking they had a deal lined up for Dragic last offseason before the Thomas signing and then it fell through.

Correct. Haywood's salary goes to $10.5M on July 1.

Do we have anything to offer besides Haywood? Maybe Joe Harris or Sasha Kaun or Cedi Osman? Are there any #1 picks we have left?

Unless the Suns specifically want cap space with the idea of signing two MAX guys, I can't imagine how an offer based around Haywood could win out vs. the type of picks and players the Suns could get for Bledsoe if they shop him around the entire league.

Also, I would imagine, if they are smart, that they have Knight wait to sign his deal, as his cap hold is very small.

But in terms of a deal I imagine it would have to Haywood, Harris, Cedi Osman, and 2 future firsts(2018&2020) maybe other pieces like Delly or Shumpert s&t to Phoenix.

But the only seems possible with s combination of Rich Paul heavily politicking and the Suns having two legit FA's lined up thus having placing the value in Haywood's ability to clear cap space.

I also imagine this is the type of post that fans of other teams would c&p into their board to make fun of "delusional Cavs fans"

A long shot but an interesting one. I wonder how the Cavs would sort out who the point guard on the team was, or would it just sort of be a free for all. I wonder if Bledsoe wants to be in a situation where he's more of a scorer or more of a distributor.
