Cavs vs. Pacers, February 2nd, 7 PM

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I am very glad I had work and could not watch this game.

I want Parker off this roster. I want Jamison off this roster. I want Moon off this roster. I want Rollins off this roster.

Those are the definite offs for me.

I want them off by the trade deadline. Any kind of draft pick or young player with potential will do.

I'm damn tired of the narrative of showcasing Parker, etc for a trade. If nothing else happened by playing Parker over Harris last night, it's the fact that Parker made two bonehead plays in the last minute of that game last night and hurt his value, whatever value there is.

The Cavs have been horrible this season and I've handled it pretty well but I haven't been that depressed after a Cavs game since Dec 2nd. To be that close to a win and then fall short really bummed me out last night.

What excuse do you guys have for JJ grabbing just 3 rebounds in 32 minutes? The dropped passes are one thing, but as our starting Center, you just can't grab 3 boards while the other team is out rebounding us so badly. (And the pass was not too hard. This is the NBA, you need to catch the ball.)

All I know is next year Andy and Sullinger won't be dropping passes or getting crushed this bad on the boards.

Parker's shot was not optimal, but the fact is he WAS fouled. Had the ref called it and he stepped in and hit the foul shots, none of you would be complaining. Over all Parker had a very good game, which is good for his trade value. I like what I see from Eyenga and Harris....and Sessions (if he ever gets his three point shot even average he will be very good).

That's why even Byron Scott stated after the game, "the play by Parker was not what we wanted in that situation"

I guess? :dunno:

I feel we as fans are being too damn hard on young kids like JJ. Threads about specific players, etc. It's true these players make millions and should be able to handle criticism, etc, but let's remember they are kids with kid's brains and kid's experience about life. To constantly hear and read criticism about how bad you are has to get to the best of us. The game last night was a very bad game to judge JJ as he was a good 5 inches shorter than Hibbert. He also had NO other player beside him who could help out against Hibbert. Unless you call our PF Jamison a good defender and rebounder. If Andy was playing, Hickson would also be a better player.

I just don't believe bashing Hickson is doing him or the Cavs much good.

No, you're absolutely wrong. 22 is not young by NBA standards -- this is his third year in the league. If we were comparing this to high school basketball, he would be a junior right now.

However, that said, not being able to catch a ball and not being able to rebound consistently are NOT issues connected to maturity and development.

THEY ARE BASIC SKILLSETS THAT EVERY PF SHOULD KNOW BY THEIR THIRD YEAR OF NBA BASKETBALL.

<i>Scott said eventually he wants to insert Anthony Parker as the starter at shooting guard in place of rookie Manny Harris.

That move didn't come on Wednesday against the Pacers.

The Cavs want to keep Parker around 20 minutes a game because of a sore lower back.

They can't seem to get everyone healthy at the same time.

"It's always tough not to have that cohesion," Scott said.

<i>The Cavs could've run the game clock down to the final few seconds, but Parker thought he saw an opening and forced a running jumper with 19 seconds left that wouldn't fall.

''That's not the play we wanted,'' Scott said bluntly.

Granger, who led the Pacers with 23 points, converted two free throws to extend the lead to three with 17 seconds left. Sessions drove to the basket and drew 7-foot center Roy Hibbert, so he made a late pass to Hickson that bounced off his right shoulder for a turnover, sending the Cavs to their 32nd loss in their past 33 games.

''It looked like it hit him right in the chest,'' Scott said of the pass. ''I thought Ramon made the right play.''

Hickson said he was setting up to box out for the rebound.

''Should've caught it,'' Hickson said. ''I thought it was going to come off the side when he laid it up. But at the last minute, I caught his eye, he caught mine. It was a tough pass, I just didn't catch it.''

That would be a bad move by Scott. Why can't Parker get his 20 minutes off the bench? Harris is one of the few bright spots on the Cavs right now. His improvement is very clear but only has started since he's been starting. To now bench the kid in favor of a player old enough to be the Father of many members in here is simply not the right move to make for the Cavs at this point. He's not our future. The young kids are the future.

Just got done watching last night's game on League Pass (it's on live here in the UK at 12am) and man, what a depressing finish, I really thought we had it at one point there.

If any one cares what a British Cavs fan thinks, excuse my shameless plug but have a peek at my blog if you fancy it. http://escapetoforestcity.blogspot.com/2011/02/heartbreak-against-pacers.html

Cheers guys, lets hope Memphis slip up tomorrow!

I wish that were true. We have seen that already and it was not pretty. JJ can not shoot outside the paint. He can't play center against big centers. He can't play PF against anybody. Indiana had 4 or 5 guys get 8+ boards. We had our rookie SG get 8 boards. At some point the excuses for a player just don't hold water. This is a results driven profession. JJ is NOT getting the results right now, so he will get the criticism. And no, Jamison does not help at all, which is why I can't wait to see him traded.

I badly want JJ to succeed, for the good of the team and for the good of JJ. I just don't see it happening. Hope I am wrong.
