Cavs will be the #1 seed in the East

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
After seeing a few Hawks games, I think they’ll be one of the contenders in the East. Early returns look like Milwaukee Boston Cleveland Atlanta may be the top four teams.

They can't hide Trae. Like good job for putting the effort, but it's not good enough. How can they defend Garland and Mitchell and LeVert? They can't.

Bucks play drop coverage defense and the Cavs will completely demolish that scheme. They will shoot close floaters all day on high efficiency and expose the corner 3.

Defensively we match up well.
Nobody is going to demolish Milwaukee.

However, having Mobley to guard Giannis and Allen to bang with Lopez gives us a chance, although Giannis will just shoulder Mobley out of the way on his path to the rim.

The Bucks' defense is ridiculous - they're allowing just 103 points per game. Cleveland is second at 105.2. The league average is up this year at 114 - the highest in 52 years.

Lopez is not a banger. He spends his time behind the 3pt line. You put Allen on Giannis and try to have Mobley in there to help when he pushes Allen off on drives.

Some teams beat a specific scheme because the players in the opp team just have a skillset that counters a scheme. Bucks may have a scheme that works against the majority of the league, but it will prove to be pretty bad against our guards and bigs. There is nothing they can do about it with Lopez in there. Trae torches the Bucks because that drip coverage is an ineffective way of defending against him.

We know from LeBron’s second stint that teams with older players often start out slow and don’t play tough defense or expend too many calories until the New Year or even after the All Star Break.

I think we’re improved and hopefully we’ll have better health Jan-Apr than we did last season but I wouldn’t count out some of the veteran teams that are struggling now. The Nets in particular are a complete wild card - they could implode or win 50. They will need to get some defensive help but guys like Curry or Harris could be used in a trade for that.

I’m not into predictions at all. I have no idea how this season will develop outside of obvious cases like the Bucks. Look at Boston last year - halfway through they were .500.

If we’re the #1 seed that will be great. I’m hoping for top 4 and at a minimum want to make the playoffs.

We also know from Kyrie the real jews were black. White people are Albino Dravidian. It explains why Kevin Love has a thing for India....

Sorry that mess isn't going to work. It just is not. Durant shoul d have not given up a trade. Maybe the Cavs can get him for Okoro........

I think that team gets blown up in a month if they continue losing. We had Kyrie at his peak, and traded him at the right time. He’s approaching Kanye West levels of craziness and hasn’t been a relevant basketball player since his time in Cleveland. Not sure why anyone would want to play with him.

Fixed your list---

The Pacers game was the second night of a back-to-back but it's bad. They didn't defend the first night either.

Royce O'Neal is the only guy playing any defense.

Remember when the refs actually were calling the game the right way early last season and you could actually play defense for a bit? Good times.

I think the Sixers will get their act together. Miami will probably end up winning a lot of games just by virtue of how well coached they are. I see Toronto coming on strong too. I'm not ready to pencil in a top 4 yet. I think it could come from any of those 7 teams tbh. Health will probably make the difference.

Brooklyn is done though. That defense is just horrendous.

If you take out the 2 OverTimes that we played, we end up with like 102.6, edging the Bucks for the #1 D.

And we have one of the top offenses in the league to pair with it.

Well DRTG accounts for possessions, so that's actually the metric to use. We're 3rd at 104.4 behind the Lakers (103.8) and the Bucks (102.6). It's interesting that the Lakers' defense has actually been pretty good but their offense is prehistoric levels, so as a whole they're terrible. They have a 96.2 ORTG, a full 6 points behind the 29th placed offense lol. They're shooting 23.7% from 3. That front office is just amazingly incompetent. You would think at this point they would understand the blueprint for a good LeBron team is surrounding him with shooters, and yet they keep bringing in scrubs who are terrible at it. Okoro might be the best shooter on that team lmao.

I honestly think the Cavs' FO doesn't get enough credit now after seeing what the Lakers have done to waste LeBron's final years. They surrounded him with plenty of shooting talent, and we had historically good offenses in the playoffs. Unfortunately, there was just an unbeatable team that would beat every other team in history, preventing us from winning multiple chips in a row. Gilbert was also always willing to spend, whereas Jeanie let go of valuable players like Caruso because she's too cheap.

The Bucks are the favorite. They got the best.....unless Mobley goes through rapid development.

Bucks will be favored over the cavs until the Cavs beat them consistently. That was one of their best wins last year tho and I do think the Cavs have better defenders for Giannis than almost any other team
