So that was the third decent/solid offensive game from Cedi in a row. Last night and today weren't amazing but if games like this one can be his baseline with the occasional great game, and a few not so good ones I'd be happy.
I still hate how often the offense has him camping on the three-point line, he is not a stretch four.

I hope the game has finally slowed down for him. He looks way more under control when slashing. I wish Lue would have got him 15 minutes a game last season so he could have been at this point at the end of last season.

Cedi had a solid game. 6/10 shooting, 3 reb, 2 assist, 0 turnover..

Yeah that is his game in a nutshell right there. Hustle, run the floor, handle a bit and rebound. Pass where you can.

He took on too much responsibility when he had some good shooting games from 3 at the beginning of the year. he should prob not be taking more than 3-4 3's game, and he should get the lions share of those on catch and shoot. Spacing has been so bad, he wanted to our Korver, which I get, but he isn't there yet. If he can defend like he did in the 1st half last night and do those other things he showed that is enough for now.

I think he was trying to take this leap, but really he needs to make sure his baby steps are on point. I would still like to see him at the 2 with more ball handling.

Ideally after the Trade Deadline, I want

Sexton
Cedi/Nwaba
Love
and TT

as the starting unit with Nwaba taking the best wing and Cedi doing a little more ball handling

Then for the bench we can have

Delly
Clarkson(doubt he is traded)
Some guy(maybe Blossomgame)
Nance
Zizic

I think that's a full rotation that makes sense.

I think getting a spot up shooter or two at the deadline should be something Koby aims for when he takes back players. I like the lineups you proposed but if we gave a good spot up 3 pt shooter for Sexton and Cedi to pass to on top of Love, I think it will help develop them better. I think some of the problems with the current roster is the lack of confidence to pass to a player and that they will knock down the shot or make the right decision.

For sure. Those lineups were of course made as if we weren't taking anything back. Totally agree that we need some spot up guys. We are almost the only team in the league that doesn't have any reliable shooters.

12 points on 4/8 shooting, and 4/5 from the line in 21 minutes with 3 rebounds. He also finished 4/5 drives. His finishing at the rim has improved a lot in the past 4 games. If he could just hit one three a game and keep up the consistency with his finishing that would be great.

I wonder if it's the game slowing down for him or Burks has helped him with moves at the rim.

I feel like Cedi is like a little brother that copies the older brothers. Without Korver he isn't able to adjust his 3 pt shot. I hope his moves at the rim stick once we move Burks. Maybe we can find a wing size player that has good post moves so Cedi can absorb that.

I think it's just the game slowing down for him, he was having bad finishing games when Burks was still here, and good ones before he got here.

or maybe we should have coaches that can do that

Drew hates Cedi.

Why was he out for 12+ minutes straight?

Why does he no longer playmake?

I think that Drew is trying to put Cedi in a box. Now, I get that he hasn't shot the ball well, but it looks to me like he told me to not shoot off the dribble and to only focus on slashing and spotting in the corner.

I like Cedi as a slasher and I said so in the summer where he was mostly focusing on his pull up 3 (in the worldcup), but this is exactly the year to let him get comfortable as a 3 point shooter and playmaker (And he is actually good as a playmaker... his low assists are a fucking shame considering his skillset) no matter the outcome. It doesn't make any sense not to if you want him to reach his ceiling as a player.

CEDI vs Toronto Raptors (12/21/2018)

4/5 2p shooting, 0/3 3p shooting, 4/5 FT, 3 reb, 1 turnover..

Cedi got 22 mins, having 12 points in total.

He started to play more mature but team's ball transition is really, really bad.

You just can't win if Clarkson shoots 15 times and Sexton 17 times every game.

I also don't understand why the hell Clarkson is playing ? Is he a future Cavs player ? Cavs coaches are plannig to keep him in following years ? , or are they just trying to make him shiner! before the trade deadline ?

You just can't say that "We are building the future of the Cavs." and your number one scoring option is Clarkson..

When we come to Cedi, I don't think he is coached very well in this season. The team's vets are not a star, thus not a good mentor. Also, He is probably the last guy when we talk about the scoring option on the team.

1st Clarkson
2nd Sexton
3rd Hood :banghead:
4th TT - Larry
5t Cedi ...

I mean... Why Clarkson and Hood ? .. Sexton needs serious coaching as well but that's another story..

Conclusion ? with this team, young fellas don't improve their skills as much as they could, and you can't win a single game either.

I don't think Drew hates Cedi. I think he's seen Cedi get banged up, his back giving him problems so he's holding his minutes down considering he has a surplus of swing 2/3/4 type players to rotate.

I think Drew has seen Cedi get exposed when he tries to do too much. He's trying to simplify expectations to get Cedi doing what he does best, which is slash to the hoop and score in transition. I think when Cedi starts trying to play like Kyle Korver he fails and loses confidence. When Cedi tries to handle the ball like Kyrie he gets stripped. Drew just wants him to cut back on the three pointers to just taking the right kind that give him the greatest chance of success, and handle the ball in his areas of strength instead of going crazy with dribbling through 3 defenders.

Throwing Cedi off into the deep end of the pool too soon wasn't working. He's not Lebron. He needs to patiently work on and improve his weaknesses, and trying to force feed him with too much too soon isn't going to work.
