Cleveland Browns New Head Coach Search, 2014

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Not really. They usually go that long or longer.

Did Whisenhunt go 7 hours with the Browns?

I feel like the dinner with Chip Kelly last year was like 10 hours overall. NFL coaching interviews just seem to be insanely long.

Why do those interviews go so long? Debates on who gets control/power of the team?

I would imagine talking about scheme, potential coordinators, future of the team, goals, drafting, roster personnel, how much power you would have. You would have to discuss everything top to bottom to make sure everyone is on the same page.

Contract details more likely

I highly doubt it's contract details when all the interviews seem to go that long.

Interviews should go this long it is for a head coaching position. I just interviewed someone and that went over 2 hours. And I am actually scheduled for my final interview tomorrow and that is from 6:30 9:00. Which may run over...

I really respect Pettine's ability to run a defense. There is really no question about that.

And while this hire would be far from a home run, it's at least a solid line drive into the gap. Could turn into a triple depending on the coordinators. Jim O'Neil is very interesting for the defensive coordinator position. The linebackers in Buffalo did a pretty good job this year, especially Alonso.

Bills beat reporters are worried Pattine will take: Jim O'Neil (LB Coach), Anthony Weaver (DL Coach), Samson Brown (Assistant DB Coach), and Brian Fleury (Def. Quality Control). All hand picked Pettine guys, with O'Neil being his right hand man.....

No job is worth a 2 hour interview when the government is just giving away money.

No offer made per Jim Donovan. Guess we can all go to bed now... the search continues.
